a cliché that bothers me somewhat...
"the grass is always greener on the other side"
forgive me, because i think this next paragraph of text is going to be beautiful. it isn't. im clearly trying to think about too many things at once. i hate the cliché "the grass is always greener on the other side". mainly because it downright frightens me. i always know what i want, but upon getting it, i wonder "is the grass greener on the other side?" sometimes i take the plunge and it's never greener on the other side, sometimes i don't and i regret it. i find it hard imagining being fulfilled. maybe because i have never truly felt fulfilled. what makes other people fulfilled and how did they get there and finally think "this is everything i've ever wanted". has anybody ever had everything they have ever wanted? the fact there are questions that i cannot answer, and the fear of things that may be beyond my comprehension frustrates me. i am trying in vain to think of one sentence to sum it all up, but i can't. i guess what im trying to say is 'they' are probably right when 'they' say: "don't take life too seriously", but that doesn't help if you actually are like me, and take it seriously. hopefully someone else can understand me, but i leave it open to anyone else with an extremely inquisitive mind and a sporadic thought to snowball this thread... im new and you have to be nice to me peace out, shiloh |

its not solely personal to be honest. its stuff like 'what if hannibal had of conquered rome, would the world be a better place now?' and the fact that no one will ever really know is perplexing.
im one to find contradiction in everything so forgive me, its just my nature. i'd like to say it doesn't stress me but it does (maybe not majorly, but in some way it does) so i am grateful for your response. i think these thoughts when im sober too, but when i get a hit of thc i feel clever enough (althought i may not sound it) to articulate my ramblings. to really appreciate something you have to understand what the possibility of losing it means to you. if your life seems mundane, take time to consider everything you have that you are happy for. you at the very least have a computer, so i assume you live in a house with electricity and probably a bed. would you feel differently about these comforts if you were homeless? you can't focus all your thoughts on the past or future (though planning is of course important). it makes you lose sight of everything you see in a normal day that makes you smile. did you eat a delicious meal today? did you talk to someone whose company you enjoy? see a neat cloud in the sky? find a dollar on the ground? even if a day seems bad you can be thankful for that because it would be boring to have all positive experiences. your life would lack balance and it would be boring.

Fulfillment is kind of like God. Everyone wants to believe in it, so so badly, but it really doesn't exist.

what you need to do is not worry about the others grass! if your happy with the grass you have and it is green enough then why care about others grass? and if cant help but care about the others grass then think to yourself, why is their grass better than mine? did THEY make it that way? and if they did, think about how they got the better grass. then all you have to do is set out a goal to make your grass greener and make it happen!

you cant be fulfilled if you think this much about fulfimment
to address your problem with a cliche by using another one, ignorance is bliss. a kid can be TRULY fulfilled with a pack of pokemon cards, but were all too fucked up to be fulfilled with a 5lb brick of chronic and a million bucks. mull that over.....
