Dream interp anyone (Pharm girl? :) )
Anyone else want to share dreams for others to offer thier impressions of? Feel free to have a go at this one (Pharm girl, I was particularly curious what your first impressions are? )... really weird... seemed significant though.
Last night I had a dream that my grandmother (now deceased), my mother, myself, and my daughter (4 generations-matriarchal) found some drums kinda like those ones made out of oatmeal containers that you play with as kids. We started playing them in attempt to attract bees. My mom had a thing that looked like those deals that were used to hold memory cards... like with a bunch of squares that you put the cards in but this was shiny metal and had some sweetened liquid for the bees in it. She told me that when the bees drank all of that, they would refill it themselves.

I had a dream that Denzel Washington was selling Heroin from an army base. Any ideas?

SweetSativa: you're sexually frustrated
Flamingnun: you've seen "Training Day" one too many times (one time being too many)...and live near an army base or play/watch lots of war/combat stuff...

Bees are supposed to symbolize pollination (such as pollination of ideas).... so, it's kinda cool that I was trying to attract them to a 'memory holder'. Drums are supposed to symbolize success.

Native American Indians believe that Bees represent immortality and selflessness...
If I didn't know better.......I'd say that someone with an ear for the beat is ready to flourish.
The 4 directions have spoken and are calling in GrandMother Moon to ensure/protect the 'Shining Star'~

Thank you! That bees symbolize immortality makes a great deal of sense in context because my mother told me that when the liquid was all drunk up, they would refill it. The drums also seemed more significant to me than the info. that I found told as I associate drums with ceremony and spirit and the Red Path. I never thought of the four generations as the four directions. My grandmother's presence was also very important and a call to my ancestors (this is not the Native side of my family b/t/w so I think the 'matriarchal' part of it is also important).
There was one other thing. My drum sounded more dull than the others. I messed with it to try to get it to ring out but there was a muffled 'thud' sound.
Thanks so much Wo do!

i had a dream that an airplane i was riding in landed (not crashed; landed) in the ocean and after a while of swimming around some big, pale blue helicopters descended from the sky pointing downwards, like so their propeller was positioned vertically. we climbed the ladder aboard and that's all i remember.

^You what's weird? I had a dream once that I was diving out of a helicopter into the ocean (it was supposed to be something I was doing for charity). Really vivid too.
Water is supposed to symbolize the unconscious mind or soul experiences, water is a deeply spiritual symbol. The condition of the water (still, murky, rough, etc) is supposed to say something about the state of emotions. I read that helicopters and planes symbolize that you want something to happen fast. I don't know if I buy that interpretation. Perhaps it was time for you to 'transition' to a new mode of spiritual transportation?

I've been having weird dreams the past few weeks about UFOs lol.. had about 3. The first one was scary at first, than humorous- I remember spotting a ufo and being terrified, than it landed in a tree and looked like a large toy. a friendly woman (human lol) opened the door and handed me a wrapped present.
The second dream- made no sense, the short dream was just me staring at a huge chalkboard with sketches of some cars and planes and stuff. I saw a drawing of a stick figure of myself, than noticed a drawing of a ufo moving, and stalking me. when it moved towards me, it turned into a nightmare and I woke up yelling.
And the third one was me water skiing, and a ufo appeared and once again it turned into a nightmare just from the sight of it, and as it got closer i woke up yelling.. wtf is up with this lol. I'm not good at remembering dreams, and the last couple weeks iv'e only had/been able to remember these 3.. It's weird because it's like once i see the ufo in these dreams, it's like it's focus is on me and as it get's closer, I get this weird feeling like it's gonna abduct me and I get so terrified of what I might see inside the ufo, that I start yelling, and like forcibly wake myself up, still yelling in my bed lol.
I don't remember watching any weird sci fi movies or having ufo's/aliens on my mind or anything, so I'm thinking there might be a meaning behind these dreams. It's like I make it a nightmare just by the sight of the ufo, out of fear. If I hadn't any fear, I could just go with the dream and see what happens next, not too sure why I'm so terrified (you know how if your in a nightmare, your body automatically wakes out of intense fear/stress just when your faced with a monster or something?)
wow i think I might be interpreting this dream myself, I think I might be understanding it. Because I have definitely read that the unconscious mind, or sub-conscious can give you "messages" through dreams.
So maybe it means I'm afraid of change? Afraid of new things? Afraid of the unknown? (maybe I'm so scared of what is inside the ufo I just can't accept the unkown, not even knowing if it's "scary" or not..) If I have the dream again, I'll try to go with it, and maybe it'll stop reoccurring. maybe that's the message, that I just have to "go with it". I think I'm onto something.. sorry this is so long and it seems like im rambling. I guess im trying to interpret my own dream as i go along, and writing it out helps. This "fear of the unknown" could be pretty appropriate for my current situation in life I guess. It's been a year since i graduated high school, and I still don't have my mind made up about what I want to do in life, whether I want to go to college/join military/start career, etc. I dunno, does that make sense? lol probably not

Wow! What incredibly intense dreams!
I think you're hitting the nail on the head (most times we're the best interpreters of our own dreams but it's interesting to hear others too). I think especially since the girl/woman was offering you a WRAPPED gift (what's inside?). Could be there is some gift that you have that you are afraid to use. Or maybe it's just like you said and you're afraid of the unknown, uncertain future. The fact that the gift came from a 'heavenly source' (although maybe not in a traditional religious sense) makes me feel that whatever your 'gift' is, it is innate.

Pharm Girl, there was no fire in the dream. There was a camper though and we were outdoors. It wasn't night, the sun was bright overhead. The metal thingy was really bright too.

I like the idea behind Gestalt.... looking at everything holistically (at least that was the idea ). I never used to look into the dream symbolism because I held such a strong belief that whatever came from dreams was only relevant to symbolism that we may hold for ourselves. However, treading upon the Red Man's path changed that when animals began to appear dreams and in life with messages that I could not determine without researching. Eh, people could argue hindsight bias and placebo (whatever the hell that phenomena ACTUALLY is ) or any number of other things but I'm not interested in arguing. I've done too damn much of it lately I just wanna grow and learn and play.... and friggin' relax.
Freud was too stongly influenced by.... himself. He made too many assumptions. He did have some good ideas though (id/ ego/ superego, conflict between what we 'should do' and what we 'want to do'... you know). He got in the way of himself.

the coke probably helped that along.
I was pulling your chain there.
Lucid dreaming used to be my thing.
Could; hear, smell, feel and controll almost everyhting during the lucid periods.
Learned to reproduce the same, or a continuation of a lucid period on different sucessive nights..
Created the perfect girl.
never learned her name.

^ I have a class that is pretty much open discussion psych class and Freud's name comes up a lot. Haha... lots of debating.
Anyway, yeah lucid dreams are great. It's been a while since I've had one. I was like you, practiced until I was having them frequently years ago. Now I have one every once in a while. I actually find that I prefer them non-lucid at the time. Keeps me from 'getting in my own way' (hehe... my phrase of the day).... okay, Jesus... I'm tired...going to bed

i had a dream where me and everyone from my high school were in the army together. It was in some Asian country with jungles. The Asian soldiers were holding everyone in town at gunpoint looking for people to take away, and they shot this girl i dated in the middle of town(we were walking together). for some reason they pointed the guns at me and waved at me to keep walking.
next part i remember was at night in the jungle with all the other soldiers. I went off to go to the bathroom and ended up lost. I thought i heard the voice of this one kid on my wrestling/football teams whispering to me and walked that direction, saw 3 tigers/leopards or some big cats in the shadows and walked away slowly. everyone was gone when i got back. after a while i saw the guys and went over there. Then this other guy i remember from my wrestling team came up and said i was getting called a deserter and was in big trouble because they got in a battle right after i went to the bathroom.
the last part i remember was everyone lining up one day according to rank and i was walking up the line asking all these random people i remember from high school what rank they were so i knew if i needed to go farther up the line. my rank was mercenary one and i was really close to the front of the line but never found my exact position cuz i woke up.
talk about bizarre!

i have dreams of going into labor (i am not pregnant) and continuosly having babies until i wake up. In the dreams it feels like i am just giving birth to a constant stream of babies in hospital with one of the walls off of it and water rising and getting closer and it seems like it is literally forever, and my boyfriend is there but we don't talk he just wanders in and out and looks at me.

Term Meaning
tiger Strength in action, assertiveness, aggressiveness, no-nonsense, pro-active activity, taking pre-emptive action to avoid problems before they arise. Bravery and personal strength, integrity, ethics, or conscientiousness. Bravely doing the right thing. Dreaming of this animal can represent:
Having too much of one of these qualities, or that you could benefit by being less this way
Not having enough of one of these qualities, or that you could benefit by being more like this
Someone or something in your real life with whom you associate one of these qualities (an event, situation, threat, etc.)
For more clues, pay attention to what the animal was doing or any particular characteristic that stood out.
|
Is there some part of your life... some group that you feel like you are singled out in? Unless your team mascot was the tiger?

I had a dream about a large cat last night... I'll post.
