no, vaporizers conserve herb, health, and money. if someone decides they like getting high on a consistent basis but don't like the effects of the smoke and tar on the lungs, they would be in a good position to buy a vaporizer. its not a "smoking device"

The bag is part of the original equipment now. The inventor/seller was offering a free upgrade about a year ago and we took it. The stem was made larger, an insert was provided to hold the herb, and of course a bag and aquarium pump were sent as well. The bag works great, but it's just more convenient to use it like a pipe.

There was a screen inside the tube to prevent the product from being sucked from the tube into the aquarium tubing. The idea was to fill the glass tube with herbs, place the tube over the heated sheath, and inhale. Between hits you remove the tube to prevent the herbs from extended contact with the sheath causing burning. The Vapor Cannon never worked properly. It ALWAYS burnt my herbs since there was nothing, such as a screen, to prevent the product from falling on the heating element and into the inside of the box. In the end, it was $150 down the drain.

HERBALAIRE ($200)– We’ve owned this one for three years now and absolutely love it! All we have to do is fill it, set the thermostat for 350°, wait about two or three minutes, and inhale. We can use it lying in bed, sitting on the couch, or even while using the phone. It only has two main parts, the base and the stem. There are no bags to fill, no valves to lose, and no easily breakable parts. Every few months we clean the mouthpiece in rubbing alcohol and that is the only maintenance ever needed. The herbs NEVER burn. The only thing that could make it better is if it were cordless. It has become our favorite household appliance. With inflation, one will set you back about $250.00 these days.

VOLCANO - About a year ago I tried my little sister’s Volcano followed by the Herbalaire the following night with the same herb. They both worked the great, but considering the Volcano’s price ($500) I can’t foresee ever buying one, considering that the Herbalaire has the same performance for half the price.

wow, that was exactly the type of reply I was looking for. That really put things into perspective, thanks a lot. I figure that the volcano is probably good, but much of why it's so expensive is because its become some what of a name brand. I figure we'll do some more research with some of the less popular vapes which are supposed to work just as well.

How can you say this.. .As a liver transplant patient... I wanted to make sure when I smoke it was as healthy as possible. I have talked to many Doctors, and they all agree that smoking from a vap is by far the cleanest safest way to smoke. So before you go saying things like that, might want to hear the individuals situation.

it would be awesome to have one but theres a slight problem, im a poor college student thats $1500 in debt (not college related, bought a new pc and needed brakes for my car). thats why i have a $30 plastic bong

Not really, in the three years I've had my volcano, I've never gone more than 6 bags out of a half gram of leaf material. If you put in more than 1/2 a gram in a volcano, you're using too much leaf.

Volcanos are also recommended for medical patients, such as myself. The long term health effects of smoking marijuana aren't really known, but it is known that the smoke contains carcinogins that are not existent in vapor.

I did a TON of research and tried a few different types before finally settling on the Silver Surfer. Each one is unique and hand made in Colorado. I have mine sitting on my desk and it looks amazing. It has the best heater in the business (completely ceramic and gets hot enough to vape Salvia) and every part can be replaced for less than $25 - all for around $250. If you do a search on google, you'll see that 99.9% of the people who have one love it.

So me and my friends did end up getting a vape, it's called The Extreme vaporizer (corny name, I know). The thing is actually pretty good. It came with bags, a whip, and even a remote control. The high isn't the same as smoking, but it definitely gets you fucked up and conserves a little bit more weed than smoking would (although I did expect to save more). It also lets you make your own bags which I thought was pretty cool. The only complaint I have about it is that disassembling some of the pieces can be a real pain in the ass, and taking the whip or bag out of the heating element is kinda tough cause they get hot as hell, but other than that this thing is solid. Its got a bunch of other features that are pretty cool too, and we got it for around $250 so it was a lot cheaper than the Volcano. If any of you guys are interested I think theres a pretty good YouTube video for it, just search Extreme Vaporizer.

Eating is pretty freaking rad. I made some brownies for my friend who didn't believe me - he's a believer now.

The only downside is that the trip can be a little intense for someone who's not ready for it.

I have a theory as to why some people don't like vapes - it's a completely different way of smoking than they're used to, and the rituals attached are unfamiliar. Plus if you're younger you may not feel the effects of smoking as badly as some of us older folks do.

Have to agree.. That one reason why I bought a vape with a whip. It just feels like you're taking a hit from the starship galactica instead of your normal bong. At least with the whip you FEEL like you're smoking something...

We call our Herbalaire la pipa. We pass it and hit it just like a pipe as well. We just don't have the fuss of lighters, smoke, or a hacking cough.
