The Volcano: Do all end all of smoking bud?
Ok so here's the deal, a couple of my friends and I were thinking about how much we hate smoking the other day, and realized that it was time to invest in a vaporizer. The only problem is, that there doesn't seem to be much accurate, and unbiased information about vaporizers, at least none that we came across. So I thought I'd ask the weed aficionados on Yahooka and see what you guys think. As of now we are pretty much torn between a used Volcano(around $300) or a new Vapormatic (same price). Those are just the two that stood out to us, if there are any other vapes that you guys would recommend, please feel free to suggest them. Pretty much we want a vape that is easy to use, is efficient with its weed consumption, isn't going to break down on us, and one that uses bags to store the vapor. Also, I realize that the Volcano is probably the best vape around, but it's just so god damned expensive, I'm definitely not of the mindset that "the more you pay, the better the product." So if any of you guys know of something that works just as well, for cheaper, please share.

ive never smoked out of an expensive vape like the volcano but the vape i did try (which looked like a rectangular wooden box with a white bic stick pen stuck in the center of the top side) kicked my ass. it looked like a piece of shit, took forever to heat up, you had to pack the cylinder with grinded herb each time you wanted a hit, and you almost got light-headed which how hard you had to suck on it, but about 5 minutes after you were done with it, it hit you and you were like holy fuck im high as hell! one of my friends smoked out of a volcano and he said its freaking amazing, but im like you i couldnt justify spending $700 on one no matter how nice it is. even $300 is pushing it.

I've used a volcano many a time and i loved it. Didn't really notice the "different" high, that some people say they get. probably because i got stoned cold dummied every time i used it. i can definitely attest to it saving bud though, you can get high off of very little

Yea I realize that vaporizers like the volcano are mad expensive, but what else can you do? I'm not gonna stop smoking that's for sure, but at the same time, I'd rather not do anymore harm to my lungs, and so vaporizers seem to be the only option. I just don't want to buy a discount vaporizer for $150 or so, only to have it suck balls or break down on me. Also, I figure that in the long run, having an effective vaporizer will save you money with all that bud you'll be saving right?

I've smoked out of my friends volcano many times. He's had it for atleast 2 years now and it still works just like the first time he fired it up. When you first plug it in, you do have to wait i say 5 minutes at most for it to warm up, but then its good to go the rest of the night. I've gotten so high off the volcano that i threw up one time cuz i was too high(only vomited 3-4 times in my 3 year career of smoking). THe high is a little different the first few times from the volcano, but after that, i think its all the same. THe only bad thing I have to say about the volcano and probably any vaporizor is that the FULL taste of the marijuana is not ALWAYS there. It depends on the what type of marijuana u have i guess. So yea, theres my experience with the volcano, only good things to say about it pretty much. SOrry, i haven't smoked any other vaporizor so I can't really voice my opinion on the other vapes.

yeah for your own good don't buy a cheapie vape, especially if you aren't gonna be able to try it before you buy it. I'd rather spend a little too much, than be disappointed.
300 really isnt all that much, i would go for it. I'd get one if i didn't still live at home ![]() |

i'd love to get one but i feel i dont smoke enough to warrant spending that kind of cash on something that could be put towards more useful things. i smoke maybe a bowl a day (or maybe one every other day, if im low on cash), two bowls if im really bored, have nothing to do and have a decent amount of weed.

I LOVE my Volcano, and wouldn't part with it for anything. The effects are much more pronounced, and you don't feel as icky as you do when you're smoking.

They cost a lot, but they're certainly well manufactured and get the job done efficiently and pretty neatly.
If you've got $400-500 to spend, why not? |

you will not be disapointed by a volcano, just make sure you buy some extra bags too cuz it sucks passing around one bag at a time

I've owned a number of vaporizers, volcano included, and if you are a social smoker the volcano is great... I much prefer the Vaporbros when I am smoking singly or with a partner... The volcano is a great return on an investment and is a sound piece of equipment, and the warranty is best next to the Vaporbros lifetime warranty...

itll pay off in the long run, you can get like 10 or more bags of vapor off less than a gram bowl

What follows is my own personal experience with vaporizers. I turned to these devices partly based on health concerns, but mostly out of a desire for stealth and discretion.
BC VAPORIZER ($65)– We used it for three months, and yes, it works. You fill it up, plug it in wait three or four minutes, and inhale. You’ll get vapor for about two or three minutes, at which point the herbs start to burn and you get smoke. After a few tries I got the hang of it and learned when to unplug it and plug it back in without burning the herbs too much. After a while I even preferred it to smoking. When it came time to clean it I made the mistake of using rubbing alcohol. The polymer base just dissolved into pieces the second the alcohol touched it! As it was un-repairable decided to upgrade to the pricier Vapor Cannon. VAPOR CANNON ($150)– This one stayed in our arsenal for about three months as well. The Vapor Cannon has a base that contains a soldering iron sheathed in glass, a riostatic switch, and an on/off switch. The “wand” consisted of glass tube designed to fit over the heated glass sheath on one end, and connected to aquarium tubing with a mouthpiece on the other end. There was a screen inside the tube to prevent the product from being sucked from the tube into the aquarium tubing. The idea was to fill the glass tube with herbs, place the tube over the heated sheath, and inhale. Between hits you remove the tube to prevent the herbs from extended contact with the sheath causing burning. The Vapor Cannon never worked properly. It ALWAYS burnt my herbs since there was nothing, such as a screen, to prevent the product from falling on the heating element and into the inside of the box. In the end, it was $150 down the drain. HERBALAIRE ($200)– We’ve owned this one for three years now and absolutely love it! All we have to do is fill it, set the thermostat for 350°, wait about two or three minutes, and inhale. We can use it lying in bed, sitting on the couch, or even while using the phone. It only has two main parts, the base and the stem. There are no bags to fill, no valves to lose, and no easily breakable parts. Every few months we clean the mouthpiece in rubbing alcohol and that is the only maintenance ever needed. The herbs NEVER burn. The only thing that could make it better is if it were cordless. It has become our favorite household appliance. With inflation, one will set you back about $250.00 these days. VOLCANO - About a year ago I tried my little sister’s Volcano followed by the Herbalaire the following night with the same herb. They both worked the great, but considering the Volcano’s price ($500) I can’t foresee ever buying one, considering that the Herbalaire has the same performance for half the price.
