Nug prefrence??

So sometimes you get a bag and it's a bunch of small pebbles and your all 'damn i got jacked' then you pull out the scale and to your amazement it not only weighs but its over... Then the next sac is this really duffy three finger bag so your all 'shit yeah this dude hooks it up', then the test comes and your a couple points shy... No the scale isn't broken, we are talking density here folks...

Now let's assume you have the same strain but one batch is super dense and the other fluff..Which would you buy and why??

Pro-dense
Burns forever
Nuggets
Less is more
Mostly stemless

Pro-loose
Easy to breakup for joints, blunts, etc...
Better burning bowl packs(assuming all you do is stuff and burn)
More effecient, no flipping bowls, burns quick and completely

As people add their thoughts i will add more to these...

I actually prefer fluffy shit. No real reason I just like it. Round here though you are gonna pay out the ass for some fluffy shit even if it is garbage because people are dumb around here.

If I get dense stuff I typically grind it up before loading a bowl
but I don't really have a preference its all smoke in the end

the fluffier shit tends to be the best imho. Headies ussually look like about double what they weigh, so an eigth looks like a quarter.

I like to buy it as a huge nug. This way all the kief is still inside it. Then I break it up or grind depending on how I feel. Whats the heaviest Nug anyone has had. I had a quarter nug once. Or anyone know the biggest recorded nug? My guess is maybe half or an ounce.

I've seen oz nugs before, and have personally grown a 14 gram nug(indoor)...It needed to be held up with strings...I bet that gh has had his far share of mammoths...

For me, I'm buying any bag, fluffy or dense. I've had great dense bud, as well as fluffy. Usually, whatever stinks more is gonna be the more potent one.

OK... Usually denser buds are Indo dominant and more hash productive while fluffier ones tend to stay closer to the Sativa side. Since I like to have more than one strain in my head stash I usually have both types at all times.

Now, besides preferences in High I usually grind the denser buds so they burn better and I can collect any kief. Sativa buds are carefully dissected by hand and placed in the bowl for immediate immolation.

If anything I always look for trich concentration, color, how well a stem snaps, nice spongy feeling while squeezed, good resin (sticky) left on fingertips and ground smell... mistrust overly smelly bud that hasn't been ground. Many times some "folks" add scents to the buds to increase aroma. Some of the best bud I had (homegrown) didn't have much of a fragrance until ground.

When possible grow your own... You'll know how much you were raped buying from the guy... All kiefed up mids...

got to tell you how it comes is irrelevant to me because of the mulling up process, or should I say processor

I use a coffee grinder for all my chopping up needs these days and it turns eveything from rock hard vacuum sealed nugs to winter bud bush-weed into fluff with the press of a button

probably dense because one little bowl will burn for dayyyys.
however fluffy nugs are perfect for joints and the best to look at in my opinion.

wise words...I also use strictly electric grinders as well...nothing gets better fluff than two steel blades at high rpms...

This is yet another reason why it's so much more fun to be medical.

Some dispensaries have huge jars of buds and will weigh them out in front of you when you buy your meds. Others will have pre-weighed containers, but they will always let you pick out which ones you want.

Besides that you have a choice of not one, two or three but anywhere between 12 and 100 strains of MJ to choose from, and you always know what the strain is.

Example: Yesterday I bought an 8th of Afghani and an 8th of Kush x Sage, both were VERY nice, big buds - the 8th of Kush x Sage was pretty much all one bud with a few smaller ones, but the Afghani was four nice size buds. As long as my bud isn't mashed up and dry with trichromes falling off, I'm fine, though I do gravitate towards bigger buds, just because they're SOOOO much more interesting (even though you get so much more stem too).
