vaporizers
Ok so becoming conscience about my lungs I was thinking about buying a vaporizer. I currently smoke about 2 blunts and numerous bowls a day so I was thinking my lungs must be hurting ( I know this from when I run around) haha but anyways was wondering if anyone was one what model and how they think it has held up. I want to get a volcano but they are so expensive.
thanks ![]() |

What follows is my own personal experience with vaporizers. I turned to these devices partly based on health concerns, but mostly out of a desire for stealth and discretion.
BC VAPORIZER ($65)– We used it for three months, and yes, it works. You fill it up, plug it in wait three or four minutes, and inhale. You’ll get vapor for about two or three minutes, at which point the herbs start to burn and you get smoke. After a few tries I got the hang of it and learned when to unplug it and plug it back in without burning the herbs too much. After a while I even preferred it to smoking. When it came time to clean it I made the mistake of using rubbing alcohol. The polymer base just dissolved into pieces the second the alcohol touched it! As it was un-repairable decided to upgrade to the pricier Vapor Cannon. VAPOR CANNON ($150)– This one stayed in our arsenal for about three months as well. The Vapor Cannon has a base that contains a soldering iron sheathed in glass, a riostatic switch, and an on/off switch. The “wand” consisted of glass tube designed to fit over the heated glass sheath on one end, and connected to aquarium tubing with a mouthpiece on the other end. There was a screen inside the tube to prevent the product from being sucked from the tube into the aquarium tubing. The idea was to fill the glass tube with herbs, place the tube over the heated sheath, and inhale. Between hits you remove the tube to prevent the herbs from extended contact with the sheath causing burning. The Vapor Cannon never worked properly. It ALWAYS burnt my herbs since there was nothing, such as a screen, to prevent the product from falling on the heating element and into the inside of the box. In the end, it was $150 down the drain. HERBALAIRE ($250)– We’ve owned this one for three years now and absolutely love it! All we have to do is fill it, set the thermostat for 350°, wait about two or three minutes, and inhale. We can use it lying in bed, sitting on the couch, or even while using the phone. It only has two main parts, the base and the stem. There are no bags to fill, no valves to lose, and no easily breakable parts. Every few months we clean the mouthpiece in rubbing alcohol and that is the only maintenance ever needed. The herbs NEVER burn. The only thing that could make it better is if it were cordless. It has become our favorite household appliance. With inflation, one will set you back about $250.00 these days. VOLCANO - About a year ago I tried my little sister’s Volcano followed by the Herbalaire the following night with the same herb. They both worked the great, but considering the Volcano’s price ($500) I can’t foresee ever buying one, considering that the Herbalaire has the same performance for half the price.

No, save up the dough for the volcano, it's so worth the extra price, and hey it's the only vaporizer that has gone up in value - when I got mine they were selling for as cheap as $350, now you can't get them for under $500!
In all seriousness though, there is not a better system than the volcano. |

i very much disagree with you that there is no better system than the volcano. i know MANY volcano owners who would very quickly disagree with you. it is also not the only vaporizer that has increased in price/value since it has come out.
if you want something similar to the volcano, something that will fill up bags, then i suggest getting the extreme. if you want something small(still not pipe sized like the vapor genie, etc...) and portable, and is excellent at conserving the herb, get the purple days. if you want the vaporizer that produces the biggest kick ass hits, get the silver surfer. if you want something very very much like the silver surfer(but just not quite as appealing overall) but still need a vaporizer that gives out nice vaporful hits, get da buddha.

Herbalaire($250) does fill up bags with an air pump. I'm not saying it's better than the Volcano($540).
Silver surfer ($250) and Da Buddha($220) are nearly identical to Vapor Brothers($140 or $155), Vapor Warez($150 or $160) , or Hotbox($150), the enclosure is the difference, they all use similar ceramic heaters (vapor bros talks about their new mineral heater but it's not really much different). The others also produce nice flavorful hits, since it's fresh vapor. I gotta recommend Vapolution($150), it's got an all glass heating element, and you can get an all glass mouthpiece, so that you can get the cleanest, most flavorful fresh vapor hits. It also comes with an adapter so you can use it in your car, and you can buy a 2 hour battery pack($75) Vaporinfo.com is a good vaporizer forum, even though it isn't very active, you can read a lot of vaporizer reviews there. Avoid Vapir products, the biggest problem is that they leak lots of air so that to make them work you have to tape the up, and even then the vapor is going through the electronics before it gets to you. |

I just tried out the "Da Buddha" vaporizer, changed my whole perspective on weed smoking, and put me on a new level of stoned.

I own the Silver Surfer, and it's completely delicious. I picked mine up from a local headshop for $220, probably could find it cheaper online.
Just out of curiosity, how can one vaporizer be better than another (besides the Volcano, which draws the smoke for you)? If it heats it up to vapor without burning it....what does it matter what brand it is?

i wasted 350euros on a vapir-1. Money thrown in the garbage bin.
Then i got a volcano. Never looked back. If u wanna "buy once" and get the best, get a volcano. Buying cheap, costs you twice as much. |

the volcano, along with every other bag filler vape is not nearly as pleasurable experience because there is more air in the mix than there is in a hit through a whip based vaporizer. the heating element makes up another big difference in vaporizers. some use cheap supplies that take a long time to warm up and are not fully stable(at the temp you set it at) and others use top of the line supplies. there is a lot of volcano fanboyism in here.....all i have to say to you people is to find somebody with a silver surfer and try it once. if, after one bowl you do not agree with me that it produces FAR superior vapor hits(while being faster and easier to use), then i will buy a plane ticket and fly to wherever you live so that you may kick me three times squarely in the balls. point being.....that aint going to happen. youll take maybe two hits off of the ssv and be begging to trade them your volcano for their ssv. trust me, i have seen it happen. the only time a bag filler is an option in my eyes is for the people with health issues. the act of taking the hit is easier from a bag. but if you have two working arms and healthy lungs, it(the volcano) really is a waste of money.
