Another weed + tobacco question (Sorry)
Sorry for asking about the same subject again but i dont really know what to do.
Ok so i took you guys advice and rolled without tobacco. I got SO high , never been as high as that and it lasted ages. Anyway i was having another joint and if you think of the bit on cigerettes that you have to flick off - the burnt top , well i had one of them. I flicked it off and noticed something. So i picked it back up and saw that on the inside was nice green weed with all around burnt. I showed it to my friends and we came to the conclusion that it must be the no tobacco because it helps it burn. Anyone ever experienced this before? Any ways of solving it? Thanks in advance. |

you mean the cherry came out when you tried to flick the ash? long term: learn how to roll better. but until then just kind of touch the edge of the ash to something (like your finger, even) to brush it off, or lightly blow it away.

Nah not that some weed fell out when I flicked. But when i light up it only seems to burn the outside paper and the surroundign weed and not in the middle. Think of a donut , the hole in the middle is non-burnt weed , everything else is burnt.

ah i gotcha. i can only imagine the joint was rolled rather loosely/unevenly. or perhaps was never fully lit in the first place.

It could be my rolling , only just started afterall. Would how ground up it is have an effect. I mean , does the weed have to be super grinded for to be used by itself?

interesting point man it's worth considering. the amount it's ground doesn't matter as much as whether it's been consistently ground, especially for a joint. the idea behind grinding the weed at all is that it increases the surface area of combustion. this provides smoother hits and keeps you from just scorching the weed. for a joint though it takes on another element because the better ground the weed is the easier time you'll have shaping and rolling it into a joint. as i said though, consistency is everything. you don't want to pulverize it but you don't want bigger specks getting in your way while rolling.

if you're grinding your weed, be careful that it doesn't get too fine or else you won't be able to pull air through it.
if you are henceforth opposed to using tobacco in your joints, then you'll need to start rolling tighter (that will solve your unburned weed problem) -- not so tight that you can't pull through it, but tight enough that the cherry is evenly distributed. a bonus to using tobacco, especially long-cut tobacco, is that joints tend to burn smoother and they canoe less. you're also a lot less likely to loose the cherry from your joint (i think that's what you were talking about...).

that you are. weed has a tendency to burn out quicker than, say, tobacco.

Don't be sorry for asking questions either. Chances are someone around here will be able to help you out with something, and if they can't, you could probably find it from a thread in the past.
