Joint problems
Alright, I've been smoking for 3 years but not until late '08 have I started to do everyday. For a long time I did not roll. There were always people who rolled so I thought I had no need to learn. I learned how to roll blunts first, pretty easy. Joints came next, also easy. But for some reason my joints are stubborn and don't like to light sometimes. I'm usually very consistent with joint rolling but sometimes, like half the time, it won't light, why? I'm not sure if the papers are the reason but I usually use the king size Bob Marley papers and the double wide ez widers. Please, any advice, its not like I try to light it weird. But sometimes the bud just wont burn.

that happens. joints usually go out. but if it wont light at all, it means you roll your joints too tight, or your bud is too wet.

^ yeah, that too (not properly ground). although back when i was young and i used to smoke shwag, i found that that shit not only stays lit, but burns hot as hell and really fast. depends on the type of shwag i guess.

I hate rolling, once I get my hands on a ounce or so and a carton of papes I'm just gonna smoke joints for a few weeks for practice. Then a few weeks of blunts.

most likely too tight. i can't roll joints at all, but my buddy used to roll super tight when he first started rolling joints, and we could never light them

you dont have to roll hog legs that require you to roll them tight. cut down on the weed and roll it somewhat loose.
and make sure your weed is cut up good and fine. it burns way better than trying to burn chunks of weed.

A pack of packs is a carton, no?
Like a pack of cigarettes is a carton.

a pack and a carton are two different things there buddy.
to the original poster....dont use such big papers. More paper leaves more room to roll a joint too tight.

Should I just get a grinder if anything? Seems convenient, and if it is not broken up enough a grinder would definitely fix that problem. If anything thats probably the problem, but sometimes I do roll really tight ones, so thanks all for the advice.

They're cheap right? No more than 20 or 30 bucks?

I know there's wooden and metal, which would be better? and which usually costs more? There's a sweet headshop down the street with the coolest owner. I know they have them there, but I'd rather have money and get it rather than checking one out then leaving.

id settle for plastic one if tight on the paper. the kief sccreen section on a metal grinder is seldom used - for me at least. but to each their own. plastic works well for grinding for joints

Alright, thanks, it would also come in handy for breaking up for blunts, which is my usual way to smoke.

What would you call it then? The case that all the individual packs come in.
