how long does weed stay good

how long will it stay good in a ziploc bag?

For ever. But it will gradually dry out, and I believe the older the weed the less potency. But say you found a bag off weed from 5 years ago you could still smoke it and you still would get high you just may have to smoke a little more.

Exactly what he ^ said. Keep it in a cool dry place like your closet or somthing and it will stay good for a long time.

I would recommend a film canister rather than a baggie, unless you use some heat and shrink wrap it in which case you could have it a long time if kept dak and cool. I would use a film canister though for a mid to long term storing.

Yeah what they all said. Keep it in a cool place. A refriderator would be ideal. I remember a while back a friend of mine whose step dad found a baggy in his shed that had a few joints in it, god knows how old it was. Anyway we smoked it and I thought it was some fucking dirt weed but he told me what happened. He said it was probably about five years old. It had a very low THC content in it because when we smoked on two joints on it, I barely caught a buzz.

I have an 1/8th of the best bud that i have ever smoked..and its from just over a year ago. It was so good that i wanted to hang on to it. This is what i did, and its still as fresh as the day it went into "storage". Take a straw, and close the bag around it. Then suck all the air out kinda like those machines that air seal bags. Then close the bag. Now its kinda tricky to pull the straw out and seal the bag, but do it a few times until you are sure that you got most of the air out. Ok next i got a air brush paint glass jar from a local hobby shop, it is a prfect size (they make all sizes) and i put the air tight bag in it. Ok now next step, i got one of those little bags of Slicate gel (They come in packets of beef jerky, they absorbe air and moisture) and put that in the jar with the bag. Works really well, the buds are still dank, not dried out. I hope this helps.

now this is a great post! let me say your post ask a ? that i have the anwser to!back a few years ago i was at a auction bying war surplus from 1942 !in this was a soidlers day pack!when looking in side we fould a small hiden pocket with a letter from a german soidler! in that letter was about 3 bowls of weed ,the american had die and his things send home!at frist we thaught it had gone bad ,but that was not the case at all!we smoke one bowl and waited at frist it was a small light buzz and it got better over a 5hr time it lasted about 36 hrs on one bowl !we never laughed so hard in are lifes!i dont know if all weed acts the same but i wish we had found a pound!ageing had time relested the thc in the weed and made it a longer lasting high! or they got some good shit in germany!tazz11

i also found a bowl 3 inches deep in the ground one time with a metal detector!the chamber had weed in it but it tasted like dirt and could not have goten a fly high! so that would leave me to think it would have to be dryed and stored out of the light !so i hope this helps !tazz11

if i ever happen to get some weed thats too moist, i let it sit out on my dresser for a day or so, let it get a little crispy, and its way more stony!! ive compared and proved this, try it. but, if ur talkin about long periods of time, im sure it will eventually lose some THC

The other day me and friends had a whole bunch of J's rolled and ready to smoke. I just found a couple of them that weren't smoked up, so i'm wondering if i smoke them will i get a good high and will it be okay healthwise? Well as okay as usual.

Anybody try to freeze your buds ? I am thinking about it..., but I am curious if the process of frozing and defrozing could do some damage. What do you think ?

I've heard of freezing baked goods to preserve the thc in them. I would bet it's the same for just the weed. The only thing i would be afraid of is freezer burn. It is probably inevitable that you will lose some of the quality, but if you are storing it for a long time, I would think that freezing would be better.

Probably best to try it with a small amount first and see how it goes.
