I just ordered a proto pipe ne one use one if so what do you think of it.

i bought one about a year ago. after prolonged use i do have sum suggestions:

keep you bowl clean - the built in "screen" clogs relativly easy

popping out the bottom - do this on top of a towl or sumthing ontop of a hard surface because it need a good amount of 2 realease.

dont let too much resin build up or you'll never be able to get it out. Happend to me

umm the little poker is easy to lose

be careful when using the stash place to put your weed. so many times i opened the wrong way and spilt bud all over the place.

finally this pipe can get hot, beware of taking resin hits without wearing protective gear

I had the same problems as joker420. Make sure you don't let the resin build up or you'll never get the resin trap out! I have no problem with the stash case, I think it's slick.

And like joker says, don't take rez hits without protective gear, they get hot!

You can never go wrong with glass but always remember to use a glass screen of none at all

forget about this protopipe, just get a glass piece at your local headshop for like 30 bucks or order one. glass is the way to go. trust me

Well, those recommending glass may be forgetting its resin chamber and good portability

My friend has one, and I like it just fine.

(Of course I'd prefer my glass bubbler anyday - but can't really transport it)

Ah hahahahahahahaha. The wonderful proto pipe. Great choice. The one I have is almost 25 years old. Best smoking device every made, imho. It is true they get cloged, but they are designed to be easily cleaned. It is true they get hot, but on a cold winter night it makes a great hand warmer. It is true you have to clean your bud before puting it in the stash or smokin it, you should anyway for a smoother smoke. It is true you can easily loose the poker, just bend the stash tab a bit. It is stealthy, it one hits great. It can be palmed very easily. Everything right there in one small package. Anyone that doesn't want thiers, just send them to me. Ah hahahahahahaha

by protective gear i mean oven mitts or gloves or sumthing. i seriously have pipe shaped burns on my hands that i never found until the next day, and other times just couldn't hold the pipe and dropped it. its still a good pipe. if it ever gets badly clogged put on sum gloves and fire it clear.

I'm a metallurgist and Proto Pipes are made from "machinable" brass which contains lead. LEAD when heated vaporizes and enters the body thru the lungs. It is then stored in the BRAIN and causes DAMAGE.

Use papers as:bigjoint they are much cheaper and don't have lead in them.

my buddy went through 40 packs of papers at about two dollars each in 5 months and he has pipes and a bong. How are papers less expensive to a real smoker then a pipe?

haaaaaaaaaa good notice dezzy. i was like damn now thats old school right there when i saw dude from 1999 posted. makes a bit more sense now. maybe dude is just on a campaign to promote the dangers of lead in protopipes. that could be about as real as a metallurgist????? might have to go throw that in wikipedia and see if a pile of bullshit comes up.
