I think what might be a nice thing is simply a walkthrough of smoking pot from getting it to picking out seeds and stems, grinding, packing, smoking techniques, etc. how much you should smoke per hit (ballpark), what some scary aspects of getting high for the first time might be (for me I couldn't stop smiling which really freaked me out. Now I love it) etc.

Like the most basic of basic FAQ.

I ruined my first stash because I didn't know I was supposed to do anything but pick off a chunk (stems and all) and smoke it like a cigarette.

Obviously I learned, but it might be nice to have that up. Shrug bongsmilie

I think all newbies should be forced to read the FAQ and guidelines and do a very basic test before allowing to be fully registered. This will cut down on the flood of retarded newb threads that appears everytime registration is opened.

Be realistic, who would waste their time registering here if you had to go through that? If I stumbled upon a marijuana forum like yahooka's that i needed to take a test and read a FAQ for theres no way I'd register.

the common methods of smoking is pretty obvious, but...

There are six main methods of consuming marijuana, with countless variations on each.

1.Joint/Blunt/Spliff

a joint or spliff is basically a cigarette made with marijuana instead of tobacco, or some mixture of the two. a blunt is basically the same as a joint, except it is made with cigar paper. It is made prefferably with rolling paper, but if you don't have rolling paper, or can't buy any, you can use normal paper, but try to avoid paper with ink or dye on it. A problem with joints is being able to smoke all of the marijuana, because it becomes to short to hold without being burned. This problem is solved by a fliter, wire, alligator clip (aka roach clip), or by putting it out and eating it. A joint is a popular way of smoking, because it requires few materials, is small, easily concealable, and is cheaper that other smoking methods. Some drawbacks to joints are that they continually burn causing more marijuana to be lost, because of being contantly burning they release more smoke than other methods, and the smoke is harsher than other methods.

2.Pipe

A pipe is made up of two main parts: a bowl and a chamber. The bowl holds marijuana and the chamber/stem holds the smoke. The flame of a lighter is pulled by sucking through the bowl, releasing smoke into the chamber. Some other parts are the mouthpeice (self explanatory); carburetor (aka carb, or shotgun) allows fresh air into the chamber, to clear it of smoke; and the screen which prevents ash from going into your mouth.

Some advantages of pipes, are that they are smaller and more easily conealable than a waterpipe, cool the smoke more that a joint, waste less marijuana, and create less smoke than a joint. Some disadvantages are that they are larger than joints, and have harsher smoke than waterpipes.

Variants of a pipe include: chillums/one hitters; steam rollers.

Aluminum is generally believed to be unhealthy to smoke with, especially aluminum foil.

4.Waterpipe/Bong

A waterpipe filters smoke through liquid to remove carcinogens, and cool the smoke. Waterpipe has three main parts: the bowl, which holds the marijauna; the stem which carries the smoke to the water, and the chamber which holds the smoke. A waterpipe works because when you suck, the pressure in the chamber is lowered, pulling in smoke from the stem and bowl. Some other parts are: a carburator (aka carb, or shotgun) which is basically a hole that allows smoke the be cleared from the chamber; a silde which does the same thing as a carb except instead of being an extra hole it uses the hole that the stem fits into; and ash catcher or screen, which prevents ash from falling into the water.

Advantages of waterpipes are: they are cooler and healtier than pipes or joints. Disadvantages are they are larger than pipes or joints.

Some variations are: bubblers, which are basically a small waterpipe; hookahs, which use hoses; gravity bongs (aka bucket bong), and waterfall bongs (explained in the art of making bongs); and multichambered waterpipes, which use multiple chambers to filter the smoke.

5.Vaporizer

A vaporizer uses a heating element to heat th (the active ingredient in marijuana) to it's boiling point (376 f). This releases thc into the air without burning the marijuana. By not burning it you get a cooler and healthier "smoke" with less carcinogens than with other smoking methods. Also 34% to 61% more thc is realeased from the marijuana because it is not burnt up. However because vaporizers are more complicated than normal smoking, they have not yet caught on.

Also for homemade glass vaporizers make sure not to hold the flame too close.

Some advantages to vaporizers are: they are the healthiest way of smoking, they are cool not harsh. Some disadvantages are: they are generally pretty large, harder to make than a pipe, waterpipe, or joint, they are expensive, also if used wrong, they are harsh.

6.Eating

Marijuana can be eaten. Most of the time cannabutter is made which can then be used in any recipe with butter in it. One important thing to remeber is that a lot more thc is released with heat, so eating marijuana without heating it up like in the process of making cannabutter is not practical. Eating also produces a different type of high, which is more in your body, that lasts longer, and takes longer to kick in than with smoking. Some advantages of cooking are: only common supplies needed (pots, pans, stove); no smell when eaten, if you don't like the flavor of marijuana then you will like this, because you don't taste it; if your throat gets sore from smoking, it won't from eating; healthier than smoking. Some disadvantages are: long preparation time, with lots of smell. Because cooking takes more time and effort than smoking most people don't usually eat marijauana.

7.Misc/Novelty

Hot knives is a method of heating up two knives, then putting marijuana between them and sucking up the smoke created.

Hotboxing is smoking in a small enclosed area to keep the smoke in, letting you breath in more smoke and thc.

What blows my mind is that alot of the methods use alot of weed.Do we all have so much weed that we can afford to utilize some of these ways?Damn,if I don't have papers then a little pipe will do and if I don't have one of those then I make one out of a toilet paper roll and some tim foil(yes it's not good for you)poke holes in it and get a rubberband that will hold the foil better in place.When hard up it works.
