Drug testing forum is a good place for this question.

I think the temp will probably be fine. I'm not positive but when I had DOT physicals I had the impression that if the temperature was wrong they would have kicked it when I handed it to them--they can't prove much a minute or two later. They also had a colorant that would show if anything was dumped down the bowl and stood outside the bathroom door. I think each of those measures just decide if they accept or reject the sample and once they take it I think it means you've "passed" that part of the test.

Reason: changed tense of word, "have"

Why I'm here
I want to get as involved as possible in the community and movement. I'm so tired of people holding so many prejudices against me simply because I smoke weed. They assume I'm a lazy, burn out and it just isn't fair. I'm going to university, have straight A's, a good relationship with my family and friends, work hard at my job and attend extra curricular activities. So I guess I want to have a chance to talk to people who won't judge me based on the simple fact that I smoke weed, get involved in changing both the laws and people's conceptions, and learn some things I never knew.

Totally New
OK, here's my story. I'm 30. I just recently came back to weed. I smoked some but not a ton from ages 14-20. I got married, had kids. Wife was always cool with smoking, we smoked together a bit before we got married. It was actually her idea to do it again.
Since I started back up, I fell in love with it. I love how creative and groovy it makes me feel. I LOVE the sex.
I really think it makes me a better person. Since I started up again, I LOST 70lbs., starting working on a book, and just a generally more fun and confident person. I'm not saying weed is responsible for all of that but I didn't hurt either.
However, I was struggling a bit with some moral issues. With having kids, how irresponsible was I being. My parents were terrible parents and they smoked a ton. The actually sold out of the basement of our house. I know I will never sell, but I was still contemplating my decision.
Anyway, I just got back from a trip to the Catskills. On our way back, we stopped at Woodstock for lunch. We walked around the town and I fell in love with the atmosphere. It felt like a reaffirmation. I want to embrace my inner hippie!!

Welcome, Jimmy. I can relate totally. I stopped from 1995-2007. After some health trouble (IBD) my wife got okay with it after 8 years with no sign of it in our home (My comments about when I'm an old widower I can get stoned wore on her). The changes that occurred while I was gone were big. If you don't have a vaporizer you should get one--it is better, tastier, healthier and I think it pays for itself by requiring less greenery.
I live in NC but am from Hyde Park (about 45 minutes from Woodstock). I was only up there once but it was cool. There was a blank-headed hippie I met that had supposedly had his memory erased by the CIA with LSD and a cool looking club called the Lake. I bought a Bowie import and went home--nice atmosphere though.
My only real conflict has to do with honesty and parenting as well. Let me know if you come up with any good insights. Have a nice day

You dare to smoke the Devil's weed -- what a horrible human being! The good thing about prejudice is that it helps us nice people to more clearly see who needs to be avoided.

My kids are 7 & 6. I'm not going to ever lie to them about it but I also don't plan on flaunting it in any way. When the day comes (which I'm sure will come some day) I will tell them the truth and what I know from my experiences. I will encourage him to wait until his body and mind develops. Not to give into peer pressure alone but to do only what he feels like doing. I'll tell him not to believe everything he hears in the media and at school but to stay away from the harder stuff. Kind of like the line in Knocked Up, something along the lines of "if it comes from the earth, it's probably OK," but avoid the powders, rocks and pills, etc.
Both my mother and step-father got hooked on some real nasty stuff. So I know how that hard stuff can mess up a family big time.

I've read that it is good to teach that there is private (not to be judged or known by outsiders) family life and a separate family that is available to anyone. My terminology sucks 'cause I'm distracted but I think you know what I mean.
I was on hard shit for 4-5 years at the end of my teens. I think your message is good. Mainly, though, if you guys are good to them they probably won't want to hurt themselves. Your message coupled with showing them (which you do) that they are worthful is the key. My parents taught me I was worthless so I showed them they were right.
Eventually I got clean and started to learn to think like a normal (unabused) person. They're still in their F*cked up dynamic. They are incapable (so far) of seeing me outside the role of 'family scapegoat', plus although I resist it with my inner being I know they're a bunch of miserable, nasty jerks; so I had to shed their asses. I never needed them anyway because they never actually were what they were supposed to be. Oh well--sorry I digressed. I don't normally do that.
Take care of yourselves. On a side note, be aware that in NYS the D.A.R.E. program often involves instruction and Q & A sessions between students and police instructors sometime during grade school (depending on your district). I was taken aback when I realized how early the government sticks its noses into "our" business.
I don't normally write this buzzed (Frisian Dew--slow but encompassing) and it seems like I rambled. I'm gonna post it anyway--screw it Have a nice day.
