MannyBoy

I am a mid-forties person who tried pot two times in my freshman year of college. Neither time did I get high. About 4 years ago I got a "crick in the neck" after planting some flowers for my mom - about two hours work. I had pain like this a couple of times before, a sharp stabbing pain on one side of my neck where it was impossible to turn my head that direction. I would go to the doctor after I couldn't stand it anymore and would receive a course of muscle relaxers (Valium) and pain pills (Vicodin). The pain would go away in a week or so.

THIS TIME the pain stayed. Every day. Some days better. Some days it felt like a knife stuck in my neck and all I want is to lay on the floor with a pistol in my hand. Long story short. I had a narrowing of my spinal canal actually pinching the spinal cord. I could have easily died. I had surgery that corrected the physical issue - more room for my spinal cord.

Unfortunately, the pain did not go away, and the migraine headaches started. Here I am 4 years later. Same pain. I tried grass a few months ago as an experiment. I want to get off my narcotic pain relievers (some stronger stuff now that I am acclimated to the Vicodin). I am finding in my first few tries that pot does relieve my migraines. I am not sure about the neck pain yet. Not enough experience with the pot yet.

I am hear to learn more about the pain and depression relieving qualities of marijuana. I have a real problem getting hook ups since my friends and family don't use the stuff and I look like a cop to the people who could hook me up. I plan to try an indoor grow with a small bubbler hyro setup this winter. Unfortunately, I live in a non-legalized state.

So I am here for some info. too. Where to safely and reliably buy seeds for my experimental grow, and what type of seeds would really be best for my condition.

I would be very glad for any advise.

Oh, I am also here to enjoy the camaraderie and humor of those sharing my new hobby.

Moving to Santa Fe-- planning to grow medical marijuana

I am planning to move to the Santa Fe area (Espanola) and am doing some research about growing medical marijuana and possibly even starting a dispensary if I found some good people to team up with.

I am an acupuncturist/herbalist just beginning to learn about it!

Any ideas or tips for me would be appreciated!

All the best to everyone!

More like reintroduce myself

I've been a member sunce about 2001-2002 but between lost passwords and lapses in visiting, I found myself forced to re-register. No worries though. Just glad to be back.
The reason I smoke is twofold: I love the high and it relieves the pain I'm in. Apart from pain from a trashed spine, the real reason I use it for pain is because I'm dying.....and it's very painful. I suffer from Hep C, Autoimmune Hepatitis and my liver is trashed, hardly recognizeable as a liver. Plus, it's failing so I'm rapidly running out time. There may be cancer involved per my doctor who is scoping my stomach nrxt week. Can't have a liver transplant because of the Autoimmune Hepatitis. My only hope is stem cell research, and we know that's a long shot, and for me it's too far off. But I'll be here and posting as long as I'm alive. In the meantime, I'll just keep smoking. I know that God loves me as one of His own so I take a small measure of comfort in knowing where I'm going when I die. Wow, what a downer post! Sorry! Be well, be safe, and keep smokin' and grinnin' and watch out for the Man.
I live high in the Rocky Mtns surrounded by 14K foot peaks. Makes it hard to breathe up here at 10,152 feet above sea level, but the trade-off is worth it.

Peace my brothers and sisters. I wish the best for all of you!

Hi Cloud,

Sorry to hear you are not doing well (bodily). I hope your stay here remains mostly tolerable. They had to pull out my whole colon and I have IBD and Diarrhea, daily, probably for life, but I guess it could be worse. I meant to be cheerful but i don't think it worked. I do wish you well though. Take care, Otto

collegeville, is that northeastern??

Live in a few parts of PA in my day.

Try searching PA or Pennsylvania in regional unity. I know there be the stoners around.

Hi everyone, my name (here) is Felix. I am new to here, but not new to cannabis. I'm here to talk and meet and learn. Also, I'm in the deep south USA, but that will be corrected next spring, when I move to Colorado. Going pro, baby!

Hi to y'all!

Aaaggh...I've been trying to add my glass pipe website to the headshop links but I keep getting an error message.

I contacted Yahooka, but my emails were bounced back as 'undeliverable'
Then I noticed that some of the headshop listings are not active and I started to wonder if this was still a happening site....I was happy to see that the Forum is current and very much alive and kicking!

Anyway, my name is Mandy, I have a green card and I'm all about getting everybody legalized - the more people we have in the movement, the more power we have.
I'm a middle-aged hippie with three grown kids living in California.

I have recently opened up a glass pipe shop online and if you are interestd, you can check it out at Fair Price Glass Pipes
If you are not into it, no prob.
I'll be back later!

Hi Manny,
I'm Mandy, I'm in my mid-forties, too!
bummer that you live in a non legal state.
Just be really careful about telling or showing friends your grow area, its exciting and one person tells one other person etc. and then you put yourself at risk
Looking forward to hearing about your progress!
