Hello Yahooka from your new Community Manager!

Hello Yahooka members,

My name is ResidualEnvy an I am your new Community Manager. My job here is simple, to update and upgrade yahooka.com to make it a better place for all members to interact.

A little bit about myself: I am 28 years old living in the Boston area. I was a daily smoker until this past December. What happen? I got married, and unfortunately although my wife is ok with me smoking she is not ok with the money I spend on it. Now'a'days I smoke maybe once a week when a friend brings some around.

So that's me in short. I will be making significant changes to yahooka.com. The first being a change to the front page.

My Goals For Yahooka.com:

* Move all information on the main page to a wiki or article based system
* Create a "portal" page as the main page, this will be an "extension" of the current forums.
* Increase activity from current member base.
* Bring in new registrations
* Design a new style/theme which will include a new logo.
* Clean up database to decrease load times
* Install modifications to again boost activity

I've already seen many of you concerned with the dated main page and all the links/information listed there. This will be my first concern and I will be working on it asap. However a few questions I'd like you guys to answer so I can see what else needs priority.

* Are there any errors/bugs/issues that need my immediate attention?
* Are there any features that you could not live without?
* Are there any features that you'd like to see removed or expanded?
* When visiting other sites, do they offer something you'd really like to see on yahooka?

I look forward to getting to know all of you!

The logo change wasn't my decision. I think you'll like the new logos we've come up with.

I'd like to hear very much from all the members, what they want to see changed and want to stay the same. I am sure there are many things that ya'll can bring to attention that the mods wouldn't otherwise think of.

Whose decision was it to change the logo?

im glad to hear the front page is being revamped, but dont change TOiO much all at once. Bringing in new members isnt nearly as important as not alienating old members. Its not a business, remember; its a community.

It was the current administrators plans to revamp the logo.

Hmmn interesting, are you guys that attached to it? What do you like so much about it? Maybe just an "update" would be better than changing it completely.

My goals are in order, It is very clear there is a strong community here already. I do not want to scare anyone of you away. You come before my desire to bring in new membership and always will.

I'd still like to hear some other suggestions on what you'd like to see changed/added/removed!

Come on you guys! Where are all of you with all those opinions on what you'd like to see changed/update/made better??!?! I don't know how many threads we've had in the past where everyone had an opinion or suggestion on what to take care of.

I know you guys have some thoughts on all of this.
