Lightbulb Experiences with Ca. Dispensaries and Co-ops...

Can anyone share their experiences with what it's like in California Dispensaries and Co-ops? Such as, the atomosphere, what to expect, are prices generally the same as they are on the street (i know prices are different everywhere, I'm talking in general), etc?

Thanks. I'd really appriciate it.

expect $35 eights (3.5g), lots of treats, friendly environment, awesome stories if you chat with the dispensers, more variety than you will ever need, a sense of freedom/being in a candy shop.....

but i have only experienced the clubs in arcata, fort bragg, and san fran...

Thank you Mя. Gяiєvєs.

This is probably going to sound like a stupid question, but, can I bring my husband along so I don't have to go alone? At least at first?

if he has medical documentation, they are pretty strict about checking who has scripts and who doesn't...

Here in my SoCal town the DEA hit all the friendly places. It seems they were a bit too friendly and sold to agents with fraudulent papers and didn’t bother verifying. What we have left is one co-op that is strict to the point of being aggressively rude.

An older woman we know is a seriously ill mmj patient who must walk with the aid of a walker. Recently she was in the waiting area of our town’s last remaining club when an unfortunate incident occurred. The waiting area is a small closet-sized area where you pass your paperwork to a man behind bulletproof glass. While you wait he calls the doc to verify your paperwork. While she was waiting she pulled out her cell phone to call home. Before her husband could pick up, the security guard came flying into the waiting area from the dispensary calling her a “bitch” because she had her cell phone out. In the process she was knocked to the floor. The proprietor soon came out of the dispensary, helped the lady up, and apologized. He knew her well, as she was a regular client. He told her that there was a sign posted outside that said “NO CELLPHONES,” but. . . I guess they’re a little nervous about being photographed for security reasons.

Needless to say, she was shaken up by the whole episode and has since returned to using a regular dealer again. She said that she actually feels safer going with him than dealing with the co-op. It’s cheaper too.

I've never heard any stories like that from places up here in Nor Cal.

Sounds typical of the whole southern california scene period.

Just out of curiousity @ Oldman, why bother telling a fictional story? You make it sound as if this actually happened when it never happened at all, I just don't get it..

Yeah, thats his sig. So, i don't know if he was making that up. The places down south get busted more frequently than they do up here for violations. However, I can't see all of that happening within a shop by employees, but I'm not saying he's lying, I suppose it could. But I think it would be a rare and individual scenerio.

We are all tellers of fiction out of necessity.

All storytellers (including journalists and historians) must impose a certain literary grid over the things they report on in order to make them comprehensible to their audience. Even the most objective, factual representation of the world encounters the necessity of creative intervention. If nothing else, the decision as to what to leave is and what to leave out gives even the most factual story a fictive quality.

Another reason for my sig. is plausible deniability. I am by nature a paranoid person and I KNOW that Big Brother never sleeps.

If my fellow Yahookins are questioning the veracity of my narrative, I know that my sig. is fulfilling its purpose.

So, you just put that in your sig because you're paranoid?

Yes, AlteredStateGirl, certain level of paranoia is a good thing. It keeps you safe. It keeps you free.

I don’t live in fear, I just keep my mind open to the possibilities of danger.

Read your mail. I sent you a message yesterday.
