High kids!!

It's been a while - thought I'd check in.
Tryin to survive the heat. Impossible, unless you just don't leave the house all day. My oldest son wound up in the ER from a heat stroke a couple of weeks ago. Kind of a funny story - I got the call while I was in the examining room @ my OB/GYN. Thankfully, that particular event hadn't 'started up' yet. I was even more ready to get the hell outta there than normal. That's a Dr. you don't really want to upset (still finding things out the hard way!) My son is OK, they thought he had an enlarged heart. They did some tests and decided he didn't.
I'm going back to school. Just a certificate but who knows what it could lead to. We're looking to move. Just across this tiny little town. It's a house that has been in the family forever. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Oh yeah I quit smoking cigarettes. A whole week and 2 days. Had a couple of moments and bummed one from somebody - then I felt bad after I smoked it.
I've got things I want to be done with when I turn 40 and other things I'd like to be doin'.
Anyway,seems like nap time, doesn't it? (yawn) Just a quick one b4 supper...

ya this heat is here is pretty bad, we have a heat advisory going on right now. It's even worse during 2-a-days in fulls pads.

glad your son is OK and good for you for quitting cigs. Not an easy thing to do when there readily available.

Hahaha just turning forty and calling some of us kids....LOL

I hope you keep the cig habit kicked for good.. I have quit so many times i can't keep up.. It's almost as bad as sex. LOL only differance is, i can and still do get cigs.

I've heard all the 'old jokes'. 'You're only as old as you feel' seems the most accurate. Some days I feel 80!! I'll be 40 on February 6. The countdown has begun!
This is my 2nd time quitting. The hubby and I are doing it 2gether this time. That's the best way 2 do it - with somebody else. It's no fun alone! If your mind is wandering to sex - behave baby!! Actually that's what I told the hubby we should do with all our extra time we have not smoking. (That would be a lot of sex!!) We're taking the pills. They really seem to make a difference. No cravings - you just think "Wow, I haven't thought about smoking a cig for hours!"

im so proud of you for quitting that demon tobacco! i remember you mentioned that back when i was quitting. after two weeks you will be fine for sure.

good to hear from you stonie. we had some serious heat here (at least by our own standards, we had the hottest month ever). probably nothing compared to where you are but it was enough to cause me discomfort.

I forgot to comment to smb - I'm assuming you're @ football practice. I feel for you! I don't know how you guys do it. I don't know how ANYBODY works outside in this weather! Stay cool and hydrated and eating regularly helps. (Like you've never heard that from anyone else b4! )
Tomorrow will be 2 weeks and no smokes!! We have saved a little over a hundred dollars!! (A pack a day each for me & the hubby - every stinkin day!!) I'm lovin' it! I have my moments but they are getting few and far between. Mostly when I'm sittin here @ the computer.
I've got my books for my classes, went to orientation and now I'm waiting for school to start. The kids go back Tuesday - YAY!!
Now - I must stop and go get some other stuff done and then I'm off to work.
Oh and Critter ~PLEASE~ send us some of that cold weather!!
We are hot and parched!!
Also it's good to know I'm not the only one who doesn't act my age!!

Well...that's very cool!! Less than half my age - geez, you younguns are tryin to make me old!! I want to tell people I'm turning 50 next year so they'll look @ me like 'OMG she looks really good for FIFTY!!' Like they do my husband.
