Lets support our troops!

I know there are alot of you against this war.

I'm just sad that alot of people have a hate on for our troops, Canadian British and American.

I would just like to remind everyone that these young men and women are STILL putting their lives on the line for US.
They are dying everyday for US. and although some of you think that they just want to go kill muslims etc. which some of them may, they in their minds are doing it for us.

I watch the news, and our Canadian soldiers are dying all the time, as well, and it makes me sad because I have a military man in my family who is the greatest guy you'd ever meet. And for someone to be happy because he got killed, just to say "well this isn't our fight anyways" makes me ill.

I just think that we should all step back and remember that alot of us wouldn't have the balls to do what they are doing, and that even if we don't agree with what is going, on we should still support these brave young men and women, and their families.

So bump this thread for our troops please.

A BIG BUMP.
I cant speak for Canada, but here in the USA we all have the constitutional right to object to this, or any war. BUT WE MUST ALL REMEMBER that we would not have that right were it not for the men who felt that it was a right worth fighting and dying for.

had a 600 dollar tax off set deducted friday..and that's all they're getting from me .

soldiers are fighting because the federal government tell them so, they are not to question why..at best they have to psyche themselves into believing the mission as its sold

EDIT it's very frustrating and hard on everybody affected, many apologies for the hostilities, i realize we're all trying our best, it's aint easy, whether u agree or disagree

a soldier goes where they tell him to go, and fights who they tell him to fight. a soldier places his trust in his CO's and moves forward. If anybody wants to hate on anybody, dont let it be the soldiers.

Listen, yes a soldier follows orders; THATS HOW IT MUST WORK! At the moment, thats the system. Most of our soldiers are people who love the US and just want to work for it. Many of them don't see the corruptness in our governement and if they did might not fight. That doesn't change the reason for them being their though. I sware those who don't support our troops, just need to get the fuck out of the country. Or have their rights taken away, completely.

you are right, except... I think most folks know of at least some of the corruption within our goverment. but that wont stop a patriot. a patriotic soldier says "yes this system is flawed, but this is still my team" And a patriotic citizen says "how can i fix this imperfect system?" each in support of the other. If that symbiotic relationship fails, the country fails.

I support the troops by supporting candidates who want to stop this insanity.
The divorces, the suicides, the murders. Lots of scary stuff has happened stateside as a result of this war.

Look at the ridiculous deployments, the lack of mental health services, and the conditions at Walter Reed. We have a president who could care less about the troops.

And why do we have National Guardsmen plunged into the middle of a foreign combat zone? Middle managers and IT guys, for crying out loud. Shows our military is stretched thin.

This is 2007, kids. This is the modern world. Time for war to STOP.

i completely agree but i believe supporting them most would be bringing them home to see their loveing families and so they may kiss their wife or husband

I know what you mean, Turm. My sister's soon to be deployed. She volunteered, and I wish I knew why she did. When she told my momma, it made her cry. She said she had her reasons, but she didn't care to elaborate. I suppose she thinks my mom and I just don't understand. I really try to understand that girl. It's hard. I'm not mad at her, but it's hard not to be when I see my own mom cry like that. I've been directing my anger at the situation, rather than her puzzling decision. I love my sister and my mom with all my heart. I don't know what I'd do if something were to happen to either of them.

Without troops there would be no war.

Supporting troops is supporting war.

It is supporting politicians who put troops in harms way.

No-one in those military services listed joined because they were forced to join, they joined because they choose war as an acceptable means to achieve peace.

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity, it does not work.

When was the last time mainland Canada was actually attacked by an army?

When was the last time mainland Britain was actually attacked by an army?

When was the last time mainland USA was actually attacked by an army?

Support the troops?

No. They deserve neither my support, respect or sympathy.

DUHHHH it didnt take an army to attack the us mainland .... so your statement is totally incorrect. u need soldiers to have war? are u crazy... all u need is a person with a gun who is violent or hopeless to have war.
