Is boredom a good reason to smoke weed?
Let's face it...
I'm bored...lol. I have work, I have school, and I have my friends and family, and I'm very thankful for that. The thing is, that I can't find pleasure in anything when I'm sober. So I get stoned, and I'm like...dude! whoah! Is boredom a good enough reason to smoke weed? ok...I guess the stress of work and school combined, but still... I'm bored at work and I'm bored at school and boredom leads to agitation.

To me "being board" means having free time with nothing to do and not being responsible for, or to, anyone else. This is rarely my situation, and so I rarely smoke.

eh, using pot as 'one of' the ways you relieve boredom doesn't seem like a problem to me..more of a solution.

IMO, smoking when one is bored will, in itself, not cure boredom, but it can, and usually will in my case, enlighten me to start thinking creatively. THC stimulates my brain to, in most cases, make me think much more so than if I hadn't smoked any bud.
I usually do the activities I feel I am more attracted to doing after smoking, simply because it's what I'd rather do; which mainly involves me playing drums/guitar or xbox

You and I may not always look eye to eye, but this would be a hella concurrance, miss rev.
I think using any drug as a reason to cure boredom is a bad reason to use a drug, but I have to admit cannabis lends itself to sedentary living, at least when I smoke this fucking indica that miss k grew me, goddamn. Stuck. But i digress. As someone above stated, I don't find myself compulsively smoking dank, it is something I find wonderfully enhances the life i happen to be living. I really love canna.

I have a book of herbs and other plants used for medicinal purposes, and under the ailments index, is Boredom, and underneath it, Cannabis, Peyote, Datura, Nutmeg and Scotch Broom. It was written in the seventies, and it's got some outdated info, even for that decade...
btw, I wouldn't recommend any of those except Cannabis, and maybe Peyote if you're really up to it and ready for it. |

i told my drug counselor that being bored was my main reason for use. he blamed it on my generation having a shorter attention span because of weed and video games which he claims is a bad thing. It never stopped me from smoking but he was right.

Weed and video games don't give us a shorter attention span, commercials do.

As long as you're not smoking when you have other things that need to get done, smoke away.
