to say that because rich white suburban kids lpike to listen to hip hop and weap stupid rap clothes means they 'aspire to live the ghetto life' is a prety substantial jump...
the 'ghetto life' they are taught exists simply doesnt. people in the gheto dont have fancy cars hot women and hundred dollar bill parties, contrary to the white suburban misconception .... thus kids who may seem to like that "life" are actually liking something that is totally distinct from that life- but the companies that make the clothes, food, music, movies call it "gheto" so as to infuse an element of danger or violence aka coolness..... it wouldnt be "cool" if they saw what it actually was for a day. |
