I say set specific and achievable goals and just take them one day at a time. Don't tell yourself "I'm going to get rich," for example, but set specific goals that'll help you do it: say save an extra $20 a week, start applying for better jobs on a given date, etc.

Like, me, my goal is to stop drinking. I'm not thinking about how I won't drink in three months right now, I just don't drink today. And tomorrow, when tomorrow comes I won't drink tomorrow. One day at a time, as they say in rehab.

Try This...You are floating in Limbo, between Heaven and Hell. A clerical error has resulted in you being pulled from your Earthly existence too soon. Your Spirit is returned to the Earthly plane of existence, but in the body of the person who was supposed to die and in whom your spirit now resides in.(YOU) This person has debts and credits , education, family, good habits and bad.
What would you do with this "New" life.
Try to think of each day as the "First Day of the Rest of Your Life"
This helps people look at their lives clinically, not objectively.

You aren't necessarily moving backward just because you aren't moving forward. It's possible to stagnate.

Don't get me wrong, I am not championing for stagnating or anything, I was just pointing it out....

My piece of advice is this:

Take every situation that troubles or upsets or stresses you and step back for a moment. Take a deep breath and look at it objectively.. Now, how can you improve it and what actions that you might take would make it worse? Once you've done that and have given yourself some clarity and direction, take a second look. What in this situation is the "bright side"? Each cloud has a silver lining, if you will.

Don't let life stuff drag you down and stress you out. It's going to happen. How we deal with it as it happens is a matter of the mind and spirit and is ultimately our own choice.

Gotta love free will.
