Hard plastic bongs?

I bought a plastic bong around 5 months ago. I used it for around 2 months straight and put it in my closet. I guess I just forgot about it because I took it out yesterday and there was some bong water in there. It must've been in my closet for a couple of months unused. Anyway, I emptied the water and put some alcohol in there to clean it. I noticed it leaking from around the bowl shaft and there was a small crack. Minutes later it seemed the crack had gotten bigger! Today the whole bottom of the bong has cracked all the way around and I haven't even touched it.

Why did it do this? Did the alcohol play a part?

Let me also say that I didn't notice any cracks at all before I put the alcohol in.

I have had a few different acrylics (I dont know about the alcohol thing, would be useful to know), and I am not going to claim that they smoke like glass or anything,

but

acrylics are great, I don't enjoy hearing people just outright condemn them. I have a little purple one I use all the time. Its durable, you could throw it against a brick wall and it would be fine, and its small and perfect for traveling and outdoor missions.

I usually keep my bongs wrapped in old pajama bottoms when I move them around. I wrap this thing up and tie to to my belt and take it wherever if I dont have a knapsack its great. Literally all of my friends like this bong too, and they say it gives them a good strong high too.

yea i guess they're good for a lotta things, i know mine [did]does me justice for those days in the car. its just knowing the head shop gets if ro 1.50 and they sell it for 20, but thats just the way it is i guess.

no way josé. get a high-quality, Puff acrylic. i find 27-inches just fine. mine's just a nice, straigh chamber with 2 sets of ice-twists, it's purple and orange, 2 thick stripes of each (2 orange, 2 purp). cost me like 24$ on sale i thin. i love that thing.

worrd. plus the lower stress level. i used to be all into the big, extravagant, uber glass bongs too, but now, i find they're pointless, just a waste of money/dick extensions. i get just as high from buckets, vapes, my glass sherlock even, acrylics, etc.. all of those are much cheaper too, [except maybe the vape, but you don't really have to worry about breaking a vaporbros. table unit like you would some uber crazy 500$ glass piece of art. that's more what those uber bongs are to me, art. like you don't even want to get that shiz dirtied up
