Pretty much the same way. I was doing a report on marijuana and was an active member on a couple of non-pot forums. When I bumped in here, I kinda enjoyed reading most of the post (this was before embedded video and stolen threads ). So I hung around for a while just reading, then I decided to sign up and add my input.

Glad I found this place.

About 6 years ago, I was looking for a site that had concrete information for reference about growing tomatoes. I found Yahooka, but I also found another site called, natureshigh.com.

I ended up going to NH and registered there as HTAM. I really miss those that I came to know through that site. There were several that passed on some excellent information to me once the brought me in to their circle. I'm surprised that I haven't run into any of them at Yahooka.

Anyway, one day I went to log in, and there was a message from a mod named RaceCar that I knew fairly well saying the site was shut down, and that was that.

I was bummed, but I really enjoy visiting Yahooka now, since I've come to know so many of you cats.

HTAM

Same as other posters; i was looking for info on weed and headshops. Yahaooka came up near the top of the search list. The main page wasn't quite so out of date then as it is now.

Lurked in the forums for several years before I joined up, but I'm glad I finally did.

I was looking for cooking recipes to bring some catering goodness to a friends b-day party. I found a list of recipes on this site and just kinda stayed around and hung out. Now I mostly lurk but do post every so often.

Found the place through google back in 01-02, signed a username up but changed it one day and forgot it....

Started this one as natty_dreadhead in 03, got caught up with life, forgot about the site again, then in late 05-06 came back, changed to the name I am now, the rest is history...

Googled aluminum pipe and Alzheimer's. The thread didn't help me, but how could I let a site called yahooka.com slip by?

I googled marijuana/asthma...and here I am.
I've never joined any forums on anything, so it's all new to me, and I'm a little obsessed, quite frankly. I find it really entertaining.

It seems like alot of people check out the site, browse around for awhile, and sign up a while later. That's what I do on forums I'm not familiar with. Just to see what kind of crowd your going to be posting with. That's another reason why I choose Yahooka over GrassCity.
