does anybody else have a garden?

i am sure quite a few yahookans do eh? i am not talking bout weed really, more traditional gardens, be it veggies or flowers. I grew up on a farm so we always had a few smaller veggie gardens and my mom always kept her flower garden just looking beautiful. Many hours were spent in that garden smoking weed on warm summer nights.

Sense lain and i got our own house about a year or so ago we always make it a major point to grow a few veggies and flowers. I always grow datura of course and this year Lain is growing Lavender and basil. Our daughter Lilith picked out the plant she is growing this year a few weeks ago....cant remember the name of it off hand but its some crazy looking purple thing lol....a pretty typical pick for a young child

Anyways, i just think gardens kick ass, they can be a lot of work but u totally get what u put in and actually are a great lil family project. Our seeds just arrived in the mail today hence me bringing up the subject.

Happy growing yahooka!!

the garden at my home (as opposed to "house"...becaus e I don't really live here anymore, but I still consider it my home... i thought it was necessary to disambiguate, maybe not appropriate) is in between my house and my neighbors' house, our street running east-west... ie, the garden only gets a couple hours of direct sunlight each day.. barely sufficient for a garden, and my backyard is covered by trees (the grass barely even grows). i'd like to grow some basil and tomatoes (even though i dont really like tomatoes, but homegrown tomatoes are pretty pro). some homegrown flowers for my mom, sisters and girlfriend would be nice too.

is human poo good fertilizer? cuz i gotta drop one right now and im wondering.. i would just shit in my garden all the time. hmm... but then my plants would be like made out of my own crap. haha that amuses me

1 cup of urine per gallon of water is a good nitrogen supplement, not miracle grow or anything. its not a do all approach but good if its gonna let you sleep better at night knowing your piss smells like a daisies.

Cool 'zmatter of fact, I do...

Mostly sweet bell peppers in all colors and onions, and I am starting/sprouting an herb garden, the kinds I like to cook with. Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme...

i do rhubarb, beans, lettuces, herbs, tomatoes, peas.. i thinks that's about it.. peas and beans are really good for the soil, they load it up with nitrogen.

I have a hydroponic garden in the next room. It's pretty neat stuff, hydroponics. I'm growing some tomatoes, hungarian banana peppers, green peppers, attempting to grow an apple tree, and some oregano. No weed, unfortunately.

I'll post some pics later, if I remember.

I have an apple tree. It just started producing apples last year. Nothing edible, but it's got amazing blooms-visually and aromatically- and I'm restarting some herbs I had from last year...basil, romemary, thyme, and oregano.

I just gotta watch out for caterpillars this year. Last year these neon green fuckers swarmed all over my herbs, and when I tried flicking them off their heads exploded with some wicked smelling repellent antennae things, was fucking disgusting.

I hate those caterpillars.

i just planted ma shit.

eggplant, tomatoes, cantalope, sweet pepper, hot pepper, basil, parsley, various other stuff.

i love gardening.

also i am trying my luck at bonsai tree cultivation. its pretty interesting, but a slow process.

nothing is more satisfying than watching plants grow as a result of your effort.

oh ya and im trying to get a mango pit to germinate. its on its way except i sorta fucked it up when i ate the mango. i hope its still good.
