Tell me what you think

For the past two years i ve been going from interview to interview without much luck. The market is really bad at the moment and being overqualified doesnt help either. Most jobs out there are looking for suckers. They want you to work your ass off with a bs salary.

Anyway,

So after 4-5 interviews with this certain company, they offer me a 70K sales job. But the catch is that the boss is bipolar, u never get time off when you want it ( but rather when THEY want), u dont even have internet on your PC and u sell paper/billing solutions and brochures (freakin boring..). All 4 people who interviewed me, didnt seem happy with their jobs and that got me thinking.

So i thought to myself : you know the money 's good, but do i wanna be the bitch of this company? Do i sacrifice my freedom and my sanity for a good paycheck and a company car?

So i said fuck it. I ll settle for the less money that i m getting now, with this scratch-my-ass job that i have right now, instead of a few bucks more every month, but alot more stress on my mind. Dont get me wrong, i m not a lazy person.

But i think, a job should be at least a little fun and interesting. Otherwise its a waste of time. No matter how much money it gives.

What would you do yahooka?

My roommate/former boss is going through a similar situation. he very recently resigned from the company he has been working for for over 12 years, without any back up plans. he's currently deciding between negotiating a new position within the company or trying to find a job without so much stress.

all those books like "Rich dad poor dad" have one common point. you don't make it working for someone else. having never worked for myself i couldnt say for sure, but from my experiance as an average joe, you can either sell out and stress out working for the man to make some extra loot that you dont have time to enjoy or you can stay broke, lower down on the totem poll, but with less stress and the illusion of "keeping it real" to keep you happy.

although there are "good" companies out there where you might be able to find success without having to give up your morals or your personal life/health/wellbeing but they are too far and few between in this capatolist system. in most cases there is no happy medium like Mobb Deep said "aint no such thing as half way crook"

err seems i forgot to answer the question. having gone both routes i would have to go with less pay and less stress ftw. right now its 4 am sunday morning and i'm too stressed to sleep. but it also depends on your situation... right now i cant afford to leave this stressful job for a scratch my ass postion.
