Incense nonsense
What possesses hippies to think that incense is a good idea?
I burned about 12 sticks of them at least 3 months ago, thinking I would be a "cool pot smoker", but it wasn't cool at all. The incense made my whole house smell like a hippies armpit and after 3 months the smell has NOT gone away. I've tried shampooing the carpet, didn't work. Does anyone know how to make it go away?
I dont' know why I didn't realize it right away that the smell is so aweful. I don't like my house smelling like a headshop, which they all invariably smell like wet dog and musty old people. Everytime I go for a walk in the fresh air and then come back inside the smell hits me like a ton of patchouli.
I'm gonna stick with candles from now on.

I wear patchouli, but don't like the incense version of it.
I burn nag champa as on my alter as well as for clearing up herbial fragrances as well.
Me thinks you just need to try some of this stuff and you will see there is incense and there is Nag champa.

merc is a poser, he will never truly 'get' what it takes to be a genuine human being...Every aspect of him is forced, contrived, and just plain faked for approval...

If you have any friends in construction [or any pals who work outside], tell them to stop by right after work for a few beers & some weed...before they go home & clean-up.
They should be pretty 'ripe' after a hard day's work & be stinkin from 8 hrs of hard labor. The beer will mesh with their stench. Then fire-up some joints, while keeping the windows closed, & get your place as smoke-filled as you can take.
With the beer, the body-odor, & the bonghits in a closed-up room, your incense smell should be pretty much history after those cats split for the evening.
The patchouli smell oughta be gone & now your home/apt will stink to high-heaven. Then burn some incense to get rid of the stink.

Those are reed diffusers, nice but not really the same.

I've always thought the reed diffusers are cool but don't do much as far as smell (for ambiance).
You were probably just burning shitty incense. The stuff you find at the paper store or 7/11 usually are made with imitation fragrances and just smell weird. I've always burned Nag Champa, but lately I've been burning some incense my girlfriend brought back from Europe.
The Nag has a very strong odour, but it doesn't smell bad.

well i did something close to this. last night i had some guys over and we smoked all night. now my house smells like stale cigarettes. an improvement over the old incense in my opinion.

I also don't like inscense.. mainly because its combusted and even though i like to smoke.. i dont lke breathing it for a prolonged time. I use the oil vapos... where you pu the oil in the top and ave a candle underneath. VANILLA OIL is where its at for me. I also read somewhere that vanilla is a neutralising smell.. maybe its bullshit.. but i burn it after i smoke and the smell is replaced by the vanilla. Some time when you burn somehing else.. you can smell both.. rather than one masking the other.. know what i mean?
