Mellow Stoners and Ageism...

After reading some of the responses in the Mellow Stoners Roll Call, I realized that a few of you are misunderstanding what the purpose of it is. I'd like it to keep specifically on topic, so, here's the place to give your feedback on it, with a bit of explanation of where I was coming from.

I made the Roll Call partly to replace the current Mellow Stoners Guidelines - uncut version here. Mellow Stoners Guidelines When I read it over, it seemed there was a lot there that didn't need saying anymore. It kind of gave a negative spin on Mellow Stoners with all the talk of abusive posts. This forum no longer has that problem, I think it's a pretty cool place to hang.

Mellow Stoners was always intended to be for those who were older, that was the whole purpose of the forum. Those of us not born in the 80's are a minority at YaHooka. Many times, we don't get to visit YaHooka every day and read every thread because our lives are full of other obligations, work, family, pets, hobbies, gardens, homes. But I would like to be able to find posts that relate to where I'm at in life, without wading through Free For All or the other forums.

I didn't intend to give the impression that you younger ones can't post here. I generally don't like generalizations, because there are always exceptions. Mellow Stoners is a state of mind as well and I know that some of you who posted in the roll call are here in spirit, even if you aren't "of age". If you like hanging out with old timers that's great, if you want to get our perspective that's great. If you just feel Mellow join in. Please do respond to our threads, without your perspective, life would be a bit dull.

I did intend to subtly hint that common marijuana topics or stories about the time you got wasted behind the highschool with your friends and chased by the cops should go in Inquiring Minds. You may notice more moving of threads to other forums. If you have signed on as a Mellow Stoner in the Roll Call, your topics are more likely to stay in this forum. If you really want your thread back in Mellow Stoners, just PM me and let me know.

We have a whole variety of forums, many choices of where to post. All of our forums should have the same level of respect as Mellow Stoners (well maybe not FFA ). Higher Thoughts was created as a forum apart from FFA for those posts that didn't really belong anywhere else, but it's not being used as much as I would like - many topics posted here could be there.

So. That's where I was coming from. Things haven't changed, I just tried to express it in a different way.

I always though the key was the content, for example

Mellow Stoners - post from parent about kids mj use.

Inq Minds - post from kid about parent busting them.

Mellow Stoners - Shit man, i can't believe a mortgage is so much!

Inq Minds - I can't wait to move out my moms house.

At different stages of our lives we have different trials, tribulations, interests and opinions, it's not an ISM, it just IS.

After reading 'Roll Call' I figured 'Fuck! I am being abit selfish using this forum for random ramblings when the "conditions" talk about a place for parents to hang out etc...'
I'm quite happy to vacate the place, stay in FFA, and the others and leave Mellow Stoners for the older Yahookans... its only fair after all. I think a "OMG I was just busted!" post is out of place in Spiritual and so Mellow should be left to you guys...

i'm only 19, but i hang out reading the mellow stoners forums the most. I come to the Yahooka Forums for insight into anything weed related. I figure the best place for me to do that is where the old timers hang out. By simple reasoning the older you are the more experience you have with it, thus it's likely that you folk will be able to answer my questions.

I don't post alot, but i'm always reading over these forums.
