48 Hours- Great action flick full of laughs, escaped killers and The Busboys. What more could you ask for.
Looker- Albert Finney as a plastic surgeon who works on some of the hottest models that end up dead, and not why you think. Its eerily close to real life movies today what with cgi and all. Plus you get to see Laurie Partridge naked (something for the old guys in the crowd).

I just recently saw Bridge To Terabithia(sp?) which was a suprisingly good flick for a kids film... The Triplets of Belleville, great little french film, animated, with a very clever story Both films are highly recommended...

I saw Juno last week and I was impressed, it was a very well written and moving film...
I recently saw Fargo for the first time and that movie was highlarious, the coen brothers make amazing films... I also picked up Gus Van Sants "Death" Trilogy for 20 bucks... Last Days - A documentary like work of fiction, about a character based on kurt cobain, the movie is filmed in this gritty style and takes place over the last few days of a troubled singers life, a lot of the film takes place with him just walking around mumbling to himself while other people carry on without really paying attention to his decline... It isn't a movie for every one but sheds some new light on the subject... Elephant: Also filmed in the same kind of gritty this is real and happening now style, this one takes a look at a school from the beginning of the day from the perspective of several different teenagers going to high school, on the day of a school shooting.. It was based on Columbine and instead of glorifying the act it makes one realize how fucked the whole situation was for everyone involved...The movie is almost boring, except that you have this weird feeling all movie that it is building up to something terrible...Very moving flick... Gerry: The third I watched but the first released of the non-trilogy trilogy, this one is also filmed using the same methods..This one involves two hikers who get lost in the desert...Almost a silent movie, the silence adds to the despair of the realization of being separated from society and having no idea how to get back... This was a pretty moving film and when there is dialog it is almost humorous...

Fargo is probably one of the greatest movies ever made imo.
Also, if you havent seen Miller's Crossing, Barton Fink, The Hudsucker Proxy, or Raising Arizona, they are all fantastic movies by the Coens. I also just saw Following, which was Christopher Nolan's (Memento, Batman Begins) first movie. It's about a stalker, very very good.

I really don't like Van Sant's movies, although I will admit Elephant was good. Though anybody could have made a moving picture based on Columbine if they had any intelligence and talent.
