No, he can't. As mentioned already in the thread, Microsoft signed a deal with Rockstar, for exclusive "episodic content", to be made available in Q4 2008.

I don't doubt there will be downloadable content for the ps3, just not the extra missions/storyline the 360's getting.

EC relates to GTA4 only, rockstar dubbed it EC for whatever reason, just a fancy name for downloadable content.

But yeah, for other games that support it, you can get DLC on the ps3, i.e extra songs.

lol you cant even emulate the old games on the new ps3s. wasnt that always the appeal of the playstation? the ps3 is just a good blue-ray disc player. oh and have fun finding a game that has online pvp gaming going on. the xbox might have over-heating issues (usually idiots that stick under a tv with everything else) but the ps3 definitely has issues with the replacing the internal blue ray players and hdmi connection problems with some tvs. why the fuck am i typing this out, everyone knows this.

On the subject of controllers, I think PS3 fucked up by switching to SixAxis. PS2 dual shock analog is the best controller ever made, and I would use that controller for another 10 years. Its just so, natural.

Ya I'll give props to Xbox for a better controller, I hate how fucking light and tiny the PS3 ones are. Plus one of mine broke upon first usage.

Since this has devolved into a system war again...

This whole thing is absurd....

I have had a first generation X-box 360 since around the time of launch and it has not, crashed, gotten the 3 lights of death or had any other issues whatsoever...I also have a PS3 and have had no hardware problems yet either...

The Pros of each imo

360

1. The Library of games...Herb is delusional if he thinks that PS3 has anywhere near the scope of good games that the 360 has...
2. System failures...People are under the assumption that every system made crashes and fails and is a chore to use...This is just ignorant bs to try to justify having only one system that has yet to have a killer app...
3. Xbox Live...The single most revolutionary thing in modern day online game play...
4. The Controller... I have yet to play a game where the PS3's Si-axis has been used in an innovative or slightly fun manner...Plus I have always loved the size and heaviness of the 360 controller..

PS3
1. Media Center... If you don't want to play games and have a nice media center, the PS3 is the better system to put at the center of it..Blu-ray, Better device compatibility, the Sleekness, The functionality...
2. Blu-Ray...The PS3 like the PS2 before it is at the forefront of the new media revolution and Sony once again has put one of the best players onto the market under the label of Playstation...Movies in blu-ray are really that much better and more innovative than the now defunct hd-dvd and the fact that it comes with one out of the box makes the battle of movie viewing a no question win for Sony
3. Potential... Like the PS2 before it, before GTA3, The PS3 at this point has way more potential to grow than the 360...Whether or not it gets that one exclusive killer app is still to be decided but the potential to be the number one system is there...People cite resistance as the first PS3 killer app but it is far from having the scope or reach that GTA3 had for the PS2...

The Cons

360
1. Lack of blu-ray and now hd-dvd support... The movies on live thing is great but owning digital media is never the same as owning the hard copy...The format war is over and the high-def revolution is in full swing and will be fully adapted by most in the coming years and the 360 may get left in the dust in this aspect as the sexier PS3 with its blu-ray functionality takes over the market share...
2. Lack of Sexiness/Being the older brother....Being as that the 360 was the first released of the current gen systems, it begs to offer the question of "How much life does the 360 have and what is it going to do to beat PS3, 2 even 3 years down the line?"...I don't have a clearcut answer for this and it kind of worries me about the 360's longevity...

PS3

1, The games... There is not one game that makes me say, I am glad I bought a PS3.. BioShock/Halo 3/Gears of War/etc.. are all better shooters in their respective rights than Resistance...
2. The controller....I hate the si-axis... it seems like a gimmic and is no where as innovative as the Wiimote... It has yet to be used effectively to enhance a game...
3. Online... The playstation network isn't xbox-live and that disappoints me... The online functionablity of the Xbox 360 may be what keeps the system alive...

I left out hardware failure as a con because I have yet to experience it from either system and I can base my opinions only on first hand experience in this matter... Both systems are great and both have their shortcomings but to dismiss one over the other is asinine and foolish... My preference for gaming lies with 360 right now but that could change and I will be the first one admitting it...

worrd, and the voice and acting in san andreas was pretty phenomenal. i think rockstar does some of the best work in the industry, because they have the ability to keep shit funny, and not totally serious 100% of the time without being total cheese ball and over-the-top.

saints row was a admitted gta clone and halo is now on its 3rd incarnation and swearing/acting tough has never been an issue with the franchise, the game is by no means the best, it just offers one of the richest multiplayer experiences outside of cod4...I think you need to spend some more time playing these games and less time hating on things that you don't know about...

i wasn't calling halo over the top because of a swearing issue. more the whack sci-fi story that i don't dig. same with gears. that story was whack and over the top.i don't know, personally, i love shooters with either an UBER dope story and gameplay-- like a Half-Life-- or just with ridiculously different gameplay-- like Timeshift or a COD. I've really been digging timeshif on my pc lately.. slowing down time, grabbing a dudes gun, and then killing him with his one gun-- fucking so satisfyingly ridicurous. it's hilarious what the NPCs are saying when you're just like zipping around, hahah.
