Well there is the "Rewind" which basically if you fuck up a play, you can rewing and re - do the play. There is "BackTrack" which when you mess up it does like they do on tv... go back in replay and analyze the play with arrows and all that good stuff showing you how and where you messed up.

The animations are new... Like before.. if you started a spin move, you were stuck doing the spin move. Now if you start it, then see it was a bad idea, you can just hit another button for a juke, jump whatever. So a little more controllable. They completly re-did the play selection screen.

And a WHOOOOOOOLLLLEEEE lot more shit. I saw on some interview that they added or updated like 80 something different elements of the game.

I used to love sports games, but then they got so f*cking intricate I had to give up on em.

Yeah, JCP kinda nailed it for me. I can do passably well, but anyone that seemingly has any idea what they are doing mauls me a lot. I'm more of a casual sports fan (if that) and as a result prefer a more arcade feel.

That said, I enjoyed Madden 08, and from what I just read about 09 maybe the new features will help me enjoy it more and learn to be better.

Exactly man. i have always sucked at football games, regaurdless of how much I might like them. LOL but with some of the new features, like the virtual training arena, I have noticed (and so has the game) that I have improved a good deal.

Edit: What I meant by "and so has the game" is that it now has a Madden IQ. The better you do, the higher your score, the worse, the lower.

i got it, i didn't get to play too much but from what i have played, it is pretty fuckin sick...

madden keeps getting more and more complex too, it's crazy all the stuff you can do...every little detail can be changed, its nuts

Usually, I'd agree. But in THIS instance, the difference between 08 and 09 is so much so, that it is different enough I would have gotten 09 even if I did have 08.

Yup, have you tried the Superstar mode yet? Probably not. You can create your own player, and take him from the draft all the way to the Hall of Fame. All you control is that one player. You don't make the calls or anything else. For me, as somebody who SUCKS at calling plays, and is usually too stoned to keep up with all the players at once, this mode is the absolute shit. LOL

Yeah, you had to know that shit back in good old Madden 2004. This new garbage is way to gimmicky.

Madden 04 is by far the best football game ever released.

Yep me neither. Its a shame. I think i put in over 1000 games in 04. The the hilarity of it now. hot routes, player subs, and audibles are just the basics now. The new stuff is so absurd it ruins the game. Superstar mode? Are you frigging kidding me? Do they still haven Owner mode? What the fuck is the point of that? To make the most money?

Yeah, they still have Franchise mode.... So? Some people like it. I don't, lol but some do. And yeah, Superstar mode, no I'm not kidding you. Why are you bashing a game just because it has more options, more ways to play? If all you want is some straight forward football.... You can still do that too ya know. Eh, to each their own.

Edit: Oh and the owner mode, I'm not positive, but I THINK it has something to do with trying to be a RPG or sim.... something like that. That and some people like the business side to football. The managing/coaching side... i mean obviously SOME people do, Head Coach 09?? C'mon now.

Look at it this way, you get more for your money... you got the normal football game... or you can control it as a manager/coach... or you can just jump in the shoes of one person, and try to make it big. Not to mention the online leagues which I havn't even touched yet.... so much to do.
