I thought it was a great movie.

pineapple express proves that.. just because a movie has pot in it, doesnt make it completely dumb and poorly made....

Well I think Pineapple express was just the fullfilment that every stoner wants. Lot's of nuggets, bigscale operations, money, humour, ridiculous unsensible action, cute funny friendships, and two diverse perspectives .

I still think it was really good just not the best movie in the world. And it was nice to be in a movie theater full of like minded people.

I thought Pineapple Express was alright, had a few chuckles.

Tropic Thunder, however, had me in tears with laughter in the first 10 minutes.

I've seen P.E. three times already. I loved it & think Smaered gave a fantastic description of it.

but to say it's not good in comparison to Tropic Thunder is just ridiculous. Tropic Thunder is one of the greatest movies ever made. Robery Downey Jr. was just too funny, Stiller had some hilarious moments, as did Jack Black.

I loved the way they hid Les Grossman from all the commercials. I had no idea he (don't want to ruin it) was in it. Actually made for a really good suprise & he as Les was really funny too.

It was okay. Pineapple Express had some funny laugh-out-loud moments. I loved the opening scene (the secret government research facility) that tied in nicely with the film's final setting.

I also appreciated the sidewinding conversational riffs, the why-am-I-laughing wordplay; like when Dale explains to his dealer that he's a process server, he replies, "You're a servant? Like, a butler?" As written, that line could go either way, but Franco - fully invested in this doper's doper - makes it sing. It's tempting to say Franco knocks such stupid retorts out of the park, but that would imply a certain degree of focus and drive utterly lacking in Saul.

Then, around the midpoint, "Pineapple Express" falls apart and keeps falling, and the comedy, spiced with considerable, unevenly effective violence in that first hour, goes out the window, and in comes all the gore and the bone-crunching. An early smackdown between Rogen and Danny McBride's belligerent idiot Red ends with the trashing of a perfectly good apartment; the scene grinds on well past its usefulness, and the injuries grow more wince-inducing.

Few comedies recently have started so well and ended so poorly. There is nothing about this movie that makes it a "must see right now on the big screen".

interesting. I saw Tropic Thunder and was pretty unimpressed. Step brothers i havent seen, but most of the peeps ive talked to said it was also pretty disapointing.

Pineapple Express however was awesome. STONER ACTION COMEDY. you can't have too high of standards for film described like that. Franco killled it / stole the show from Rogen in pretty much everyscene which helped. but what made it soo good was the little things. "He's like my second favourite civil engineer..." - when that came up i busted a gut. i dont know, maybe i smoked the right amount of the right different kinds of weed before i went to see it...

that being said I definitely need to see it again so i can really critique it i guess,, haha.
