Here's the PR comic that explains how it works:

Chrome Comic

Funny you guys thought it was simon, I had a more of a kid-friendly HAL reminiscence.

Downloading now... I rather like the idea of separate processed tabs as I tend to open a lot at once and one bad tab crashes everything.

I do miss some of my firefox plugins (adblock mainly) and some password access sites aren't working, but overall everything else is much smoother and faster.

Hopefully those problems will be fixed with updates. I'll probably end up interchanging between firefox and chrome.

I'm finding Chrome a tad slower than Firefox... and I miss AdBlock+ and FoxyTunes as well... but that should be around in the next week or two.

Also, I miss personalized search keywords... like typing "W" for Wikipedia, "TPB" for the Pirate Bay before the search term and it skips a step and goes right to my results.

Unless I'm mistaken, I'm under the impression that there will be Add-On type apps for Chrome.

I also miss the Bookmarks Toolbar from Mozilla. I loved being able to scroll click and open any of my most visited sites.

sounded promising when i saw some of that comic yesterday, sounded like it could be better than firefox (apart from the fact its made by google, who are good at what they do, but not trustworthy as someone else pointed out)

the main thing that caught my eye was the stability, multithreading everything and each tab being its own process for more flexibility etc....

ran the program today (wasnt expecting it to be around so quickly) and came across a few bugs within a couple minutes, and it was loading pages slow compared to ff and ie, but to be fair it isnt even version 1 yet. then i uninstalled it. fuck google downloading the entire content of my pc
/tinfoil hat

plus using a half finished piece of software cant be that secure

ive seen a lot of hype for it around the net and i dont even visit many sites, typical google

They originally said in the ToS that anyone that does anything in their browser has to turn the rights to their intellectual property to Google.

They changed it now, chalking it up to the fact that they recycle their terms of service for everything and didn't make the necessary changes.

I'm pretty sure that's the long and short of it.

I don't really know if that's actually a bad thing, but it's not good. Someone with more computer knowledge could break down the badness of it better than I ever could.

that means that if you were to post on youtube or something your new short film, that then google would own it?
OR
That any plug-ins, changes to the sofware(it's open source), then become google's.
