Your Personal Most Epic/Intense/Emotional Moment in a Video Game
I was watching some trailers for Modern Warfare 2 and began reminiscing about the original Modern Warfare's singleplayer campaign. It took me completely by surprise with how well it was made... after the opening scene/credits I was hooked. The cutscenes and storyline were so well done, and how well they were integrated with the gameplay had me more enamoured than I've ever remembered being in a FPS campaign (yes, even Half Life).
With all of the unique surprises this game, this scene took the cake. I don't think I've ever been as solemn playing a game as I was at the end of "Shock and Awe".
i hit an eagle on a chip shot in wii golf at a console arcade.

The tribute to Colin McRae at the end of Dirt 2's kinda touching, since he was genuinely awesome.
Edit: On a moar gaming note; The tunnel mission in Ace Combat 5 was fairly balls to the wall

growing up i've had a lot of fun gaming, but anything i had since considered intense or epic was trumped considerably by my venture into mmorpg with ultima online. anything unexpected happening while i was out of town immediately set my heart racing, and it was always something unexpected. i remember one time when i had barely started playing (decided on a warrior/thief combo) some reds (players who killed 5 or more innocent players to win the title of murderer) jumped my guild while we were out hunting. i was pretty powerless to do anything but when one of the reds fell i looted a katana from his corpse, and imagine my excitement to find it was a katana of vanquishing: the most powerful damage modifier any weapon could have! i wasn't using swords so i kept it to myself (ha) and ended up selling it for like 15k if i remember right. and for the first time, i had more than one pile of gold in my bank box. w00t!
oh i think i used the money to buy a weapon proper for my skill set (fencing), and promptly lost it hunting some lame-ass orcs. such was life in britania

Fuckin Mikey you dick I was gonna say Aeris' death in FF7
when I first played through Aeris was my most BAD ASS spellcaster, that chick could fry a monster one turn, heal my party the next. Then that fucking Sephiroth pwned her with a sword and my whole world fell apart.
Also, the ending to Ico is one of the best I have seen in a game

at the end of stalker when the cutscene shows your guy walking up to the monolith all solemn-like, removing his hat and he's all bald from the radiation, and then he makes a wish and the monolith kills him.

-Killing Lucifron in Molten Core for the first time with like 2 people alive, when the dungeon first came out and it was the first raid boss. Or any end boss in the WoW 40/25 man raid dungeons.
-Using the gravity gun in Half Life 2.
-In Knights of the Old Republic when your character realizes it is revan, and you get to choose your alignment and turn your party against each other. Basically the whole good/evil system in this game was really cool and groundbreaking imo, not to mention kick ass force powers!
-Playing through the starcraft campaigns(awesome cinematics and story)
-Playing through FF3/6, awesome story.
-Playing Zelda on the wii, awesome use of wii controller and great story.
I'm sure there are lots that im forgetting too, so many awesome games over the years!

rescuing the princess in mario when i was 9. first game i ever beat, i was elated and 15 minutes past my bedtime. (especially since my dad said he'd buy me a new game if i ever beat it)
^^ beating any nintendo flagship game is always pretty epic...personal favorite still is beating super mario world because I was finally at an age where I could process time better...
but my most emotional moment was probably the day I brought home my Wii. That emotion has worn off considerably, as my Wii isn't played much anymore and probably won't be until the new zelda game comes out, but finding a Wii (this was when they were impossible to find), plugging it into a hotel I was staying in, and simply BOWLING was fuckin awesome.
Followed shortly after by Zelda: Twilight Princess? Epic.
edit: also, when I first played Dark Age of Camelot (the first MMO I really understood and played), that was pretty "wow" too.
