never experienced anything close to what you are talking about. my vista 64bit runs perfect and never had a problem with anything.

The whole touchpad thing is also the manufacturers fault. I would put money on it that sometimes you don't even touch it and it does weird shit. Google that problem to find the fix. Happened on both the wifes laptops, Vista, and XP.

upgrade to windows 7. Vista was this rounds ver of ME, Win7 is the new XP.

And thats because Vista's requirements are bunk, Win7 doesn't have that issue I've installed it on old ass P4 systems and it ran like a champ.

Hot keys means you're typing like a reject.
Nah, on the real though, you can turn it off. When the dialog box comes up, instead of spazzing...read it. All you have to do is uncheck the appropraite box and you wont see it ever again.

vista is a notoriously horrible OS
especially if you are using it for some kind of professional work of some kind, half of my audio software simply wont work on vista. its not outdated, in fact i pay a shitload of money to keep my programs up to date because i cant pirate them for professional reasons.
anyway, yeah, vista, not so good. its not exactly a secret.

primarily Pro Tools along with Reason, Audacity, sometimes Logic and sometimes FL.
Pro Tools updates almost monthly and there are still forums of people across the internet who cant get it to work with vista. something to do with the way it handles audio interacting with the Pro Tools drivers fucking everything up.

If you're such a heavy pro tools user why not use it on mac? I play around with Acid, FL and learning Ableton Live currently.
