ok i have alot of music that is marginal on my ipod, out of pure laziness i just never change it but i will try this out for real and actually try the first 5 random. im also really fucking bored and its 1 in the morning so i devoted a bit of time to this ... sigh... lol

1) bjork - i see who you are : typical bjork, enjoyable in the context of the album but on its own is nothing special. like all her music, its some honest, real music, only i am a bit disconnected from it because i cant really understand what the fuck it is actually about, lyric-wise. not that that is something that usually bothers me, i just cant really relate to it at all or get into it.

2) john frusciante- the worlds edge - hmm from one of the few frusc albums that i havent thoroughly visited. interesting. enjoyable. nothing that blows my mind, but of the quality that i have come to expect from the frusc. i should probably give this album a chance.

3) red hot chili peppers- road trippin - nice acoustic guitar work. nice feel good melody, and a good relaxing song towards the end of californication, which is a great album in my opinion.

4) on the might of princes - the water vs the anchor - a long island band punk band, what i consider "real" music, musicians you can see live in a small setting and actually talk to after a show and say "yo awesome show!". i was young when they were at their prime but at their reunion show at some bar they met me and my younger sister at a dunking donuts before the show because my sister would otherwise be too young to get in and they put her on friends of band list, all around just real genuinely cool people out of the diy music scene. just hearing the songs makes me think of my early teen years, the rebellious spirit i had, and how exciting life was. damn.

5) milemarker - sex jam two: insect incest - what is better than a song about insect sex, tearing your lovers limbs off and shit. milemarker is great, but abrasive at times. you really have to be in the mood for that type of music.

6) john frusciante - life a bath sex is water - probably the most intense music i ever experienced. the emotion is palpable, and although the main lyric may seemingly make no sense, the conviction and rawness of the song makes it really strike a chord in my soul. it was this song and this album in general that i set the standard for all other music. going back though, it is hard to listen to because its just so depressing, you can feel the mood frusciante is going through at the time.

1. Miss J feat Nate Dogg and Timbaland - Dead Wrong: Your standard timba beat, female lyrics, nice hook by Nate Dogg(with echoes by Timba)... 7/10 I'd listen to this again

2. Cat Power - I Found A Reason: A Velvet Underground cover, just vocals and piano, raw, emotional, and very well done....8/10 Definitely great for smoking a joint and reflecting

3. Jack Johnson - Moonshine: From the Thicker than Water soundtrack, starts off with a voice clip from the film about waking up to surf every morning, the rest is a great up-tempo duel acoustic guitar progression, the only complaint is that is too short, if flushed out it could have been a great... 9/10 Great song to learn on the guitar for beach gathering...

4. The Go Team - Grip Like A Vice: Standard Indie Dance Rock, Albeit very well crafted 7/10 If your girlfriend is an indie rocker she will love this song...

5. Fleetwood Mac - Tusk: MOTHERFUCKINGFLEETWO ODMASTEVIENICKSGETNA KEDRITENOW this song is dope, Mac is a guilty pleasure of mine and this is one of their best.. 10/10 Tusk! tusk! tusk! tusk!

1. The John Butler Trio - Peaches and Cream (Live at St. Gallen): Great intro/dedication for his wife...This version is great, acoustic guitars, skating, great vocals make this one a good rival to the studio version...9/10 Great ballad...

2. The Roots - Star/pointro: This is one of my favorite Roots song...The groove is impossible to dislike and the message is transcendent... 7:30+min of funky, soulful, hip-hop greatness... 10/10 Light up that bong and fade away....bongsmilie

3. The Hives - Try it Again: Typical Hives goodness...This one is special because it starts/ends with the left, right channel fading and the cheery chorus'...It also contains one of my favorite quotes, "The definition of madness is doing the same thing expecting different results"....I can't wait to see these guys at Sasquatch... 8/10 This song is just plain fun...

4. The Game - Da Shit: A DJ Khalil produced track from The Game's second record...This one is a better than average west coast gangsta boast song...The beat is al little off putting at first but by the first chorus it grows...6/10Solid crusin' song...

5. Elliott Smith - Riot Coming: From his second Posthumous record New Moon, this track is standard Smith faire...Great acoustic guitar work, tense vocals and an almost upbeat chorus make this a pretty solid song overall, it's neither Smith's best or worst song...6/10 With no real wow factor this may be a track often skipped...

1) Black - Pearl Jam : (10/10) This song to me screams perfection, Pearl Jam at their finest, smooth guitar, and well built lyrics

2)City of Delusion - Muse: (10/10) So far a very good shuffle...Muse at one of its finest with a song that starts with old time acoustic guitar and finishes with distorted electric. As with every Muse song...Excellent Vocals

3)St. Anger - Metallica: (5/10) Spoke too soon . This song isn't horrible, but it has to be my least favorite metallica song out there. nuff said

4)Brain Damage - Pink Floyd: (9/10) Great song. Peaceful song effects and vocals. Originality at its finest.

5)Shotgun Blues - Kenny Wayne Shepard Band: (10/10) If you don't know Kenny Wayne Shepard and you are a fan of blues or rock, you need to. This man knows how to play. Excellent vocals, and especially guitar, towards the end there is also a stellar harmonica solo.
