because if i didnt relate that crap to anything you fanboys would probably be like, 'oh yea, well who do you thinks better?' and because when i see that shite i think to myself, wow, the music i listen to is so much better than what these million jerks listen to. -- good point.

dude, get real, seriously. those videos are absolute garbage. lil wayne is a joke. i dont even know who to compare him to...hes a hardcore sensitive gangster poet lover boy, right?

someone like me? a person that likes good music? yea, probably not..

no homo.

edit: i downloaded 'the carter 3' - some of the 'shoot me down beat' was alright, that drum type shit. 'im me' and 'gossip' suck. but like it matters, since he doesnt make his own beats and his lyrics suck balls. he isnt witty, funny, or poetic.

All i have in this world
All i have in this world (what up blood)

They know where carter at straight off the launching pad
Marching on the moon muthafucka i been to mars and back
Cleaner than laundry mats
Jumping in something from other countries companies junkie you cannot order that
I flew that into the water back order
Go to iraqget a car with gas
And tell them crackas war with that
All i need is an automatic tick boom
Im a goon i go zoom
Smell the fumes from the vrooms
Young toon in the room gimme room
All you doomed i am soon
To get all my chips and da blooms
I would never be another groom
Unless i assume the bitch aint givin up the wound
To him and whom
M.o.b. let me boom let me boom
I pop early like 5 crackas in the last week of june
Im gettin my lunch like noon i gotta eat
Scarface with diamond teeth (hah)

On the for reala my nigga just call me scarface
On the for reala my nigga just call me scarface
On the for reala my nigga just call me scarface
Nobody knew my name they only knew my face
On the for reala my nigga just call me scarface
Nobody knew my name they only knew my face
On the for reala my nigga just call me scarface
(laaaawd)

Protect me from my friends i can take care of my enemies
I come from where the niggas just kill to save energy
Sorry world but my mommy taught me where the clinic be
So if you tried to mimic me youd probly catch some sick disease
6 degrees leanin on that pro methathathathazene
Im a centipede these men move at women speed
Im bout my spinach chesse dough chedda feddi gwop money moolah mozarella exetera exetera
Fuck competitors fuck these rappers fuck these editors
Fuck the head of the state fuck the gates who runnin the prisoners
These muthafuckas who pray im the predator see me dreadlock
Tough as bam bam from bedrock
Im tied to the game like wedlock
Say hello red dot say good bye life and say hello satan
A devil in the flesh a rebel at its best
No complainin we live in hell and im blessed scarface

let me guess those lyrics are garbage to eh

I think Lil Wayne is the Tool of the rap world.

Overrated, "deep" and viciously defended.

Much love though aidz!

fucking garbage rap.

go listen to talib, mos, roots, tribe, nas, classified, marls and tech. then once you have a good foundation of what real hip hop actually is, you will realize he sucks.

all you lil wayne lovers are just under educated, thats all.

Ladies and gentlemen: This is a perfect example of being a hater.

You just jealous.

The bottom line is that hip-hop is a pretty huge genre as far as what can be classified under it. Wayne is some good-times-club-party-kickin it shit.

I'd like to see you wayne haters throw on a Hell Razah album at a party, or A Tribe Called Quest. Not dissin them at all, I'm a hip-hop head those guys are kings.... It's about circumstance and situational appropriateness.

I can't throw on a Murs album and expect most people to get out of it what I get out of it. Shit's mostly for hip-hop heads, you gotta be into lyricism and serious nearly scientific wordplay.

If you can't see music for what it is, and you just hate on it, congratulations you're beat.

No one says you gotta like it, but it clearly deserves mad props.

like are you fucking kidding me?
its insulting hearing this fucking dude calling himself that, and most of his audience eats it up because they are the same people that were on the backstreet boys 5 years ago.

Valid comeback.

I've listened to the whole album, and it's either absolute garbage (see Phone Home), hypocritical (see Dr. Carter) mediocre (see all) or one very good song (see Tie My Hands).

This is kinda my problem. I'm aware that braggadocio is an element in most hip-hop (then again, so is misogyny), but it in my mind should at least be somewhat plausible. On the album aside from saying how great he is probably more times than he says "young money", he also says that he's up there with Big and Pac. Let's be real here, that should be enough to piss just about anyone with any common sense off. That's actually probably worse than Kanye saying "top five of all time, you ain't gotta remind me."

Geeno, I'd agree with that argument but for the simple fact that it's a bit broad. You could make the same defense of Soulja Boy or Jermaine Dupri. Also, I could party to some Tribe.

Well it would be super weak if he didnt claim he was the best.

That's simply part of the job. The truth is though he could be remembered as a great one for getting new waves of people into hip-hop.

I mean if anything a lot of kids will get pissed that some of his shit is so simple and dig deeper for the head stuff.

But the typical 18-22 yr old chicks I have rolling through simply don't understand it. It lacks the insane glamorous production they're raised on and doesn't hold their attention. Perhaps if I was from a bigger city where people my age were raised on hip-hop of the times i was raised in, they'd be down for tribe and shit. Hell I consider myself lucky to find bitches my age that recall "bombs over baghdad"

A good way to explain why wayne is so great is comparing him to RZA. Jay-Z's moment of clarity explains my perspective on that comparison.

Im also gonna quote slug: ""Half them rappers that consider themselves underground rappers fucking suck," Slug says, while reflecting on his underground icon status, during a recent Toronto promotional appearance.

"And that's why you're underground. That's why nobody's ever going to hear about you. Learn how to get better before you take shots at Sage Francis or take shots at MURS for doing what he's doing, or take shots at me. Get the fuck out of here with that.""

http://www.chartattack.com/damn/2008/03/3103.cfm

And with shit like wayne that gets those bitches in a good mood, you really can't look at it so deeply. Remember rap these days is also a show and a performance, it's not Strictly 4 My Niggaz shit.

I just simply accept wayne for what he is, i dont really care what people think about him, I'm just a recovering hater trying to help people stop hatin.

You can't be serious.

Really?

I have to be a fan and listen to a specific song because there's a hidden meaning behind "greatest rapper alive"?

Seriously?!

You better post this and it better be true, otherwise I'm afraid my Tool comparison was more apt than I thought,

I'm not sure I understand any of those comparisons. I'll listen to Moment Of Clarity and get back to you on it though.

The Slug one I'm totally lost on, especially with him talking about Sage and such unless you're trying to say being mainstream is okay.

"a recovering hater" gimme a break man. we are here discussing an album that sucks balls right and left and youre trying to be all self rightous because you arent "hatin". go critique a brittney spears album and see if you arent hating by the end of the discussion.

and plus, lil wayne encourages gang violence, he degrades woman and hes fucking ugly lyrically and physically.

and seriously if you need to have on a certain artist to get your girls wet, youre doing something wrong fo sho.

Whats wrong with a little confidence? He's just confident in himself, that's why he calls himself the best rapper. I'm sure there's been people in other things that have called themselves the best in other things. There's no difference he's just telling everybody.
