The Dead--->Summer 2009
So, the dead have played once at an obama rally and are scheduled to do so again and now everybodys talkin like they're gonna tour next summer. Fuckin eh right. I would sell my soul twice to see that shit. Phil and friends was fuckin unbelievable i can only imagine if this were to happen.....thoughts? (probably not as it seems this place is pretty sparse when it comes to deadheads)

I saw donna jean last weekend and she was terrible. Her band was even worse.

I'll hit up 2-5 East Coast shows should it pan out.
Already seen Phil + Friends 5 times this year, and I'm seeing em again on Halloween. Always a fun show.
RIP Jerry.

Joan Osbourne was singing with them when I saw them in 07. She was really goood. Totally blew Donna Jean's 'skillz' outa the water. Steve Winwood was opening for them and he was kick ass too.

Oh Donna, she sounds good sometimes, other times, she is just trying way too hard. ie. Live 'The music never stopped', for instance.

So, I figured the Dead would be touring this summer, but the tour dates I found online only extend until this Sunday!
Is this the end of this year's tour? I know they're playing Rothbury, but that's all I've heard confirmed.
I would be pissed if they didn't have more dates this year, they played in Chicago 3 days ago and I didn't even know it...

Brothers are getting older these days. Maybe they want to spend a summer with the family or something? How many have they missed since the 60s?

Yeah, but I have never seen the Dead. I've seen Bob Weir play and I've seen Phil Lesh play, but never The Dead together.
Since I just got out of school for the summer, i would be very disappointed if I couldn't see a show. Not too many chances I'm gonna be able to see this many members of the original Dead together again.
