Records...(vinyl, duh)
...what've ya got fuckos?
I've got a serious music collection but just recently started legitimately collecting vinyl in the past couple months instead of one here and there sporadically.
Favorite record (not because you like the album)?
Favorite record (favorite album of those you own)?
Cool stories about a certain one?
Anything I can't think of in my current state?
My baby sized collection of records is here. Some of them are clearly my fathers that I've appropriated into my collection.

I can't say I really know what you're asking, so I'm just going to answer what I think the questions might be. If not, well, you got more than you bargained for.
Favorite aesthetically?
Probably 40 oz. because it's just sick.

And Tool's Lateralus. A)Because I love Tool and B) because both records have the notorious awesome Alex Grey work on them.

Favorite albums are probably my Brightblack Morning Light just because their vibe/sound totally meshes with the lovin pops/crackles of vinyl.

But fav fav with best story is John Butler Trio's Sunrise Over Sea
...only cuz I love the album with all my heart, and the guys, and the fact that it was only a 1000 edition run.

Merry Christmas

I can't wait to start collecting vinyl.
My mom apparently had a 200+ record collection(some dupes that were unopened and mint) but my dad made her throw them all away.
I would have loved to have grown up with something like that.

Your dad sounds like a dick. Who does that?
Thrown them away thrown them away? Cuz that's fuckin sad. I bet that tore her up man.
oh and PS, I know you might not have the funds or space (dunno your situation) to get started on collecting, but just do it. Baby steps. Maybe buy a record every other month, etc. It's a beautiful love that'll never leave you. As gay as that fucking sounds, vinyl will own your soul.

Punch your dad in the gut for me.
Also, pictures to come now that you've embarrassed me in my own thread scatter.

I think I paid something silly like $5 for it.
I'm a bit more amped about my Big L singles collection. I'm over halfway there.

I guess it was when they got their first apartment. He didn't want any baggage from their past to go with them.
I'm being held back by both right now. Plus I don't even have a turntable yet. I love my buddy Joe's collection. I could sit in his chair and go through his records for hours.

Three more on a spur of the moment trip. Geeno you anywhere near Soundgardens New York store? There's one here and one in NY. Syracuse I believe.
Anyway...
Radiohead - Jigsaw/Videotape (Live From The Basement, which is an amazing version) 7"
Portishead - Machine Gun 12"
and Elliott Smith - Division Day/No Name #6 7"
