^ Had that pounding in the car for awhile now, never realized how thick the bass is in that song. It's a shame listening to it on my laptop compared to an actual stereo system.

right around the time of the Delta Heavy tour, that big growling bassline became a lot more popular in production. Luke Chable, Zabiela, Sasha, Yunus, etc.. can pick up any of their sets from the '02-05 before tech & minimal got hot again, and its all about the big room sound. definitely my favorite era of production & obviously a great source of massive, skin-prickling stompers.

the minimal angle these days is an obvious response to 10+ years of drug-fueled intensity on the dance floor & throughout the scene... suppose its tough to just keep blissing out to proggy house & trance when you're nearing 40 like most of the good old boys from the 90s.

Sean Cusick has been doing his own thing all the while.. influencing tech-heavy house DJs like Steve Porter & Chloe Harris. his work is always unconventional, fun & challenging to mix with.. wish there were some of his cheeky re-edits or more of his basic productions on youtube, but we only get a small sampling.

with JVM! Orbit 1.x are classics..

but nothing beats hearing him live.. the cheeky throwbacks, chunky difficult mixing, and absolute focus on bringing some twisted, intoxicating basslines. hard to find him in the US, definitely favored by international crowds.

speaking of Steve Porter, it looks like the guy has been having alot of fun on Youtube.
He loves to party with the little people after the show.. super chill guy! find out where the hotel is for the after-bar and he'll be there without question.

deep progressive breaks, ridiculously fun to mix with.. transitioning from hard to soft points in the set, bridging eras & gaps in taste.

mr. nobody, I can't make a reccomendation based upon those vids for you.. all I can say is; if you like minimal and Detroit's sound, check out Underground Resistance. On the real. Those dudes are the pioneers. You may also like Richie Hawtin.

here's a great song by Aphex Twin:

i love electronic music to death, but i am very picky. i cant listen to boring ass house or even anyone who confines themselves to a single genre of electronic music. take richard d james (aphex twin) and cevin key (skinny puppy, download, plate au) for example, their discography is so broad when it comes to kinds of electronic music. i have also developed an ear for analog gear and a love for sound design so that makes it all ten times more fascinating to me. it seems no one really knows about cevin key's solo shit so ill post some.

those are pretty much the only songs on youtube that i can find for now, very unfortunate

heres one more with an amazing song of his to some dudes gay baby
