SOMETHING is EATING one of my BABIES!

It's strange because only one of them is being chewed/eaten. Anyway, I thought maybe the chewing was from my dog, because one time I caught her licking it. But, I think it looks like bug marks? Also, I can't find any bugs really anywhere. This is pretty much the only plant that gets nibbled on in the whole garden...which also includes different flowers.

Any ideas, thoughts, comments? Much 'pricated.

AND, the little guy, all uneaten.

do you think it has been picked at recently?

the rounded edges of the wounds make it look like they were inflicted awhile ago while the leaves were smaller?

might help just a bit more if you could explain if it seems to be a very slow ongoing thing, or whether it seems to have happened in a single episode etc.

in any case, they look to be growing robustly, branching well with nice large leaves to indicate they are getting some quality sunlight.

Awesome! Thanks SAF. They get ALOT of sunshine. They're in a perfect spot. They're growing AMAZINGLY! All I do is water them (sprinklers get them too)! Glorious little weeds these are. I have to do so little! It's awesome.

NOW, on to the munchin. Now that you mention it, they were chewed when it was young, and you're right about there not being any chewing on the top few tiers. Maybe whatever was chewing it is done? Hopefully. I'll just have to keep an eye out.

Now, this may sound ridiculous, but I swear it grows NOTICIBLY over night. Like...wow! Maybe I'm crazy, but I walk out back to the garden erry morn and I'm like..wtf? Crazy!

they are just getting to the size where they will REALLY take off.
the roots are plunging far&wide and teh solar panels are plentiful.

you will absolutely notice day to day growth from now on.

have fun!

A little wood ashes and some dog hair sprinkled around the garden, will keep away critters of all sorts, with 4 legs.

You know, I think there's a thread called 'Critter Control'!

If not we'll have to start one............../

If you happen to come across a non-authorized, 2 legged varmit in the garden, scalp 'im, human hair is also a deterrent.

Some would spray with a mix of a tbsp neem oil to a qt. of water every week or so. It's a very effective, non-toxic, bug repellent/killer. A pint of pure essential neem oil can be bought for around 12.00 on ebay. It's a good preventative though I do agree about your plant, she does look very healthy.

That'd be such a burn, a thief's lying there with no scalp while you rip it to pieces and sprinkle it around your garden around to further deter people from messing with it, style points

it might not be a bug but i would suggest getting a good insecidal soap or something at homedepot anway because you could easily have bug problems later you might as well prevent it from happening now whiel your plant is still doing very well, which it is. those little bites wont affect your plant at all really dont worry and your plant looks so robust i seriously dont think you are in any real trouble

i herd hot sauce and water makes a mighty fine bug deturant, i suggest using a really hot novelty brand...stop spraying the plant during the last week or so to flush the hot sauce off the budz....

My babies are just fine. Looks like someone did a little munching on the little one, which makes me think it may be mah doggies. However, they've left them alone and the one in the first pic up there is doing BEAUTIFULLY. See?

My big gurl

I just took some I hope these help a little bit with seeing size. The big one, before I tied her down, was peeking in over the window.

Topped them? Explain a little more? I'm thinking probably not since I don't know what you're talking about.

No ferts. Awhile back I stuck some Miracle Grow sticks at the base...that's been about it.

Little one, almost two feetish

Big gurl

Topping- If you nip the tops off they will branch out more although not sure if this is necessary as they seem to be branching out well anyway. Tying the lady down has probably helped get a good spread of light all over the plant.

looking great, nice long fingers grabbin up all that sun.

good bondage job on the tall girl.. spreading her out for full exposure,
that's hot better throw another big stake in the middle of her there.. she's gonna need tying up from the looks of it.

you have any expecations for when she should finish?
