Smell

I've started planning my grow box, and was worried about smell. The armoire I am planning on using, 60"H x 36"W x 20"D, you can take a look at it, South Shore Honey Oak Armoire at StaplesŪ. The only thing I'm worried about now, is smell. I was going to use an rvk fan with a carbon scrubber, maybe a 5" fan? I was going to use that insulation rope for windows around the inside of the doors, as well as sealing the rest of the armoire with clear sealant when I assemble it. Do you think that will take of any smell? I don't plan on growing any skunk, but I'm worried you will be able to smell it in my studio. If it's not strong, I was thinking of getting some lavender to place near the armoire. Any ideas?

There`s not much point in trying to hermetically seal your grow. If you get a carbon filter and fan venting outside your grow box, if it`s moving enough air to maintain negative air pressure (I think that`s how Slunt termed it) then all the smelly air will go through the filter and clean air will be sucked in through any gaps in your grow box.

Trying to mask the smell with lavender will just result in a smell of weed and lavender.

Even if you arn`t growing skunk any weed that is of good quality is gonna smell during flowering.

If you can vent to somewhere where the smell doesn`t matter then you don`t need the carbon filter, just the fan.

People talk about using ionisers but I`ve never used one myself.
