sounds good from what ive just read, as long as u just spray em down and dont actually water them with it.
also make sure you use sodium free seltzer water and not club soda or anything

o my plants seemed to love the sparkling water. when i woke them up today none of the leaves were droopy. they seemed pretty perky for morning time.
i do have one issue though one of my plants lower fan leaves is starting to impeade the growth of another. it also causing the plant stem to get weak at the base due to it leaning on the other plants. is this cause for trimming?

i cant see that plant recovering
it will definately suffer i'd spread some honey over the infected areas carefully but you'll need to get lucky i'll tell you why you dont need to trim leaves the plant is developing roots, stems, and leaves it needs stuff in the soil, water, and light light is absorbed thru all leaves, not just green ones more light = more growth......pretty simple a yellowing leaf is still aiding the plant until it starts to be more dead than alive i think people should let the plant do the work

Some enthusiasts are into snipping most or all fan leaves that block light to buds. I find that even completely obscured buds come out nice and solid and think it does more harm than good to remove all of that energy production. It seems like the buds get more nourishment through their "veins" than they lose through blocked light. I try to let the plant manage itself in that regard.
What happened to that stem I wonder? It looks as though there is still alot flowing through it. I'm guessing you made sure nothing undesireable is creeping toward your resevoir.

lighting change
made a slight lighting change... also if you look on the front of the garden youll see an hose running into the tank i purcased a air pump and another air stone... lights were 10 bucks each and the pump was another 10 bucks.... so all total im up to $303... what do you guys think of the changes?

ya tommorow im going over my parents house... pops says hes got some flat white paint kickin around i can have. so instead of spending the $16 bucks today ill just get the paint for free. i also am going to mount some fans i need to get the whole saws from pops too.
o and i did trim some of the lower leaves just for air flow.... not the ones with 3 leaves but the single leaf ones i trimmed. this cabinet has another compartment below the same size i may customize that and try to put a mother plant down there and use the top part for clones. seems like its gonna be some more $$ though. but im thinking if i can just grow clones in the aero and have a mom down below ill be able to have a more consistant harvest obviously.

looks good for seeds or rooting clones yea, but completely unnecasarry...
he says he's spent over three hundred dollars at this point.... you can have a full multi-plant CFL grow going for easy 100 bucks or less, and they would get much better lighting, airflow, more space, everything... seems like the cons far outweigh the pros of the aerogarden thing imo

let me say that all the things ive purchased extra for this grow ive done not because ive needed to but because i wanted to. things like ph tester, trimming shears, hydrogen peroxide, fans, thermometer and hydrometer etc. are all needed for normal grows. thats been the bulk of my extra money spent.
the new tube lights were just a good deal. 22" t8 for $9 seemed like a good deal so i grabbed them. also ill end up using those for the mother plant in the end. just dont see any reason to let the extra light go to waste as im trying to bring up six healthy seedlings for sexing. ill take all the light i can get for six plants at this point. the air pump and accesories were just kinda somthing i grabbed in passing and also will probably be used for the mother plant eventually. in defence of the aero, everything has been discreet. the unit was delivered too my door. ive have brought nothing in that looks strange or out of the ordinary. no soil, no hps light, no pots, nothing. the 4 floros i bought yesterday have been the only thing people have ever seen me bring into my apartment. that said i live in a building with 83 other residents .so discretion i think is the key. while i have some crowding thats of my own doing i really should have just started 3 plants form the begining. i want a female now and with a unreliable seed stock i figured why not plant all 7 and see if i can force sexing b4 they get too tangled. that said size matters.the space i have is only 24"x16"x29". thats all i got for space. the aero fits perfect. if it gets much bigger then i will have to take a lot more precautions and run a much bigger cost in doing so. remember im not trying to produce pounds here im just trying to suppliment my normal expeditures. o and have some fun with a new hobby. i do understand the drawbacks to the aero and there are plenty. but i think its a hill i can conquer and refine.that said i am a first timer and i have my own mistakes to make. i am going into this with an open mind and a positive outlook. im not trying to be a defeatest. im sure thier are about 20 better ways to grow but this one is mine atm. besides lets see how it all plays out. maybe i can prove you guys wrong and get a fresh 2oz out of this. i have seen other people be sucessful with this unit why cant i. why im here is for support. if something look askew tell me. ive already addressed issues that people have brought up to me. side lighting, the airstone, painting the walls white instead of foil, are all things that you guys have convinced me to do. thanks. you guys have been a big help. i though that i would get laughed at or just get a bunch of fail mail. well happy 4th and ill leave you guys with a quote from a great american. "I love the man that can smile in trouble, that can gather strength from distress, and grow brave by reflection. 'Tis the business of little minds to shrink, but he whose heart is firm, and whose conscience approves his conduct, will pursue his principles unto death." Thomas Paine

If your short on space, you might think of getting some fem seeds instead of trying to find room for a mother.

The sex should be pretty obvious once it is showing. Using cfls might have you behind the 21/24 day framework--I'm not sure but think it runs a bit behind the HPS numbers. Look for very thin hairs. They should look white and come in pairs but are diferent from the horn-like green growths that one sees up the main stem at each branch interval. I think I remember this being new to you--if I'm mistaken then excuse me for stating the known. Your color and growth look nice and healthy overall. That white paint sure does clean up the overall look nicely, too.
