a noob question?

what is the cheapest way to grow good bud? my friend is germinating a couple seeds and he doesn't really have a setup or anything. i told him to wait until he at least kinda knows what he is doing but he didn't listen. i told him about this website and he asked if i could find some info out for him. like some really cheap setups indoor or outdoor? do you have to use nutrients? how often to water? do you have to use fertilizer or can you just dig up some soil anywhere and use it with no added ingredients? just basically every noob question in the book. i have no clue how to grow or what u need to grow so i just thought i could get a little help from the best website in the world!! and i would appreciate no trash talkin because i already know these are beginner questions and probably dumb questions for all you pro growers. im just trying to help a friend learn from the best so he can get good and we can finally smoke the dankest. thanks in advance for all helpful advice
