New guy on the block

Hey wusup peeps. Found this place from the Cannabis Bible on external links, nice thing going on here. Just wanted to say high and see if I can find some help around here. Just started my first hydroponic grow and running into some problems. I'm using "The Bubbler" method which is really just a series of 5 gal buckets with a air stone at the bottom. I recently had a hard time controlling the algae until I got them light tight but it seems it was too late for one of my babies. The roots have this "snot" looking crap all over them, I'v cleaned the bucket and made it light tight but the roots havent seem to recovered, nor will this crap get off my roots. Also recently the very tips of the leaves look like they are singed, thought it was heat stress but they dont seem to show improvement when i move the light off some. Nothing in the texts describes it. If anyone would like to chat about it sometime just send me a message.

Details: Genes unknown, 3 weeks old, veg stage, PPM= 750 (adjusted for water PPM=250) PH at 6.0-6.5 20-10-5. Also idk if this is how hydro goes but the 2nd plant which is healthy I have to correct the PH every 8 hours, it goes from 6.0 to 8.0+. I'm using vinegar to correct the PH lvls. 5 gallon bucket with air stone.

I realize you have said that you solved the light problem already, but I thought I would pass on something that I employed with great results.
I used tubs like the one below. I split the lid in half and then cut half moon pieces out them to match the diameter of the bucket the plant was in. They fit nice and snug around the top of the bucket, and I could take one piece off when I needed to feed.

I also used a system similiar to what you are talking about with airstones in each tub. It worked very well. Make sure you have plenty of air pumping though. Like 600cc's/min per gallon of H2O.

Peroxide can help you with clearing up the algae, store bought is about 3% and 10 mills to a gallon of H2O works as a solution to clean the buckets. Pictures of the roots would help to see how compromised things are with your plant. You might have to flush them with the same solution.

It's not a difficult fix, just a little time consuming.

Also algae can really do well in anaerobic conditions (no oxygen) so if your nutes are in containers that that are lucid enough for light to pass through, put them some place where it is dark.

And no vinegar is used to lower the PH level. If it was a herbicide these guys would be long dead

Also Higherthanamile, I have thought of using a system like what you are talking about. But I didn't have that much start up seeds (only had four that lived) so I went with 2 buckets. I was hoping to get a female and then make some clones (6-8) and then use that idea of yours. But if you have any information about how you do it such details I would appreciate.
