Questions for first outside grow?

Planning for next spring, Trying hawaiian snow outdoors

good time to start grow? Wanted to start early to allow maximum veg before august but am worried that theres not enough daylight for small plants, checked the daylight times for my area and around mid- April there starts to be 13hr of daylight would this be a good time to start?

How do i know what my soil mixture is?
trying to make it 10-52-10 to start then change it to 20-20-20 once i have a few leaf sets.

plants have to be in pots to grow succsesfully where im at, any ideas for best size?
would it affect my grow if i needed to use a flowerpot with minimal width and what would a good depth be?

any feeding tips? read Pharmgirl's tips for 12ft trees confused about the benefit of dry nettle leaves

I have lots of questions any answers greatly appreciated!

I'll try my best to answer some of your questions~

Never tried or heard of Hawaiian Snow......is it an Indica?....I can check on the flowering time!

If you can start your plants indoors around mid feb. would be best.....not too sure where yer at.....gimmy a hint!

Soil mixture..........I'l l post a link to 'Give us your soil recipe........~'

Your fert line-up...works for me!

Start out in pots....I'd cut the bottom out of the pots.....or put them directly in the ground.

Dry nettle......excellan t source of B9. The molasses is awesome too.......there's a link to the Molasses Manual, ja see that one??

If you are concerned about maximizing veg time you should start them indoors.

A small investment in some CFl bulbs and you can germ and veg for a while inside before putting them out in April.

If you do this don't forget to harden the plants by gradually giving them more and more real sun so they can adjust to all that light. Sticking them straight out in full sun can damage or even kill a young plant that is used to indoor lighting.

Starting early is truly the key to success. Plants that are established with a few leaves and a good root system are much more successful when put outside than those which are grown outside when weather permits. Ideally you would want to place a six or 8 week old baby outside in early May after danger of frost has passed and some other local plants are growing so that bugs don't feast on your babies.

Up in the trees the humidity might be even higher.....and hotter too. The danger of the plants drying out will increase 10 fold.....gotta scout out a spot on the ground. Check the topo again...
