hey all, If you want to get straight to the point go to *
I went out today to find a good area in a national park. I'm from Australia so it's very hot and a lot of bush is around. First off I walked for a good hour until i found a great spot and left coins there to see if anyone would grab them. Then started heading back and got absolutely lost. Had a kangaroo bolt right pass me say about a meter away bloody at first i didn't know what it was and nearly shat my self hahah. The coins i will never find my way back to so i have come to the conclusion to only plant say 10 min's from a track and hopefully no one will rip it. I didn't see anyone else grow the whole walk but i did see some blue ribbons tied to trees (right near track) started following them but then thought karma will get back at me and best to leave it. I am just wondering if i do plant far out which is best. What method can i use to get back there (my memory is shocking from all the token over the years). I had a compass but that didn't help me as i have to go all over the place to get back to the track. Anyway I am going to start a new thread and see what other people do. Any ideas? I've been researching all week sorry if u answer this all the time i just need to check with you guys. **OK so now i know where I'm gonna grow and checked the soil looks good i took a sample just encase anyone had any questions. I am planning on germinating 3 seeds(NRS white widow) and putting them straight in the soil. Now I have say 3 weeks to prepare. (sorry for all the Q's) A. i here it is best to go out dig the whole (I'm gonna do 2' ft x 2' ft) add soil mix and every 3-4 days water it and turn it over (is this necessary or should i just wait a couple days before my seeds germinate to prepare soil earlier the better i guess). B. Soil Mix I need some suggestions. Will this mix be good enough: Ground soil 25% Yates- General Purpose Potting Mix 25% Organic Searles 5 IN 1 Plus 25% containing Cow, Fowl and Sheep Manures, Mushroom Compost, Zeolite, Blood and Bone, hoof and horn plus added Trace Elements and Minerals (slow release) but it doesn't say how much of each is in the mix just to use 1 part 'searles 5 in 1' and 2 parts ground soil for a good mix. 10% vermiculite 15% Perlite Dolomite lime ( How much for each plant or per kg's of mix? should I Test ph b4 i do this) OR should i skip the 5 in 1 and add it a month down the track Iv really just made this up from the things i want to use and from the research iv done this week. **Will this be okay to pop seeds straight in or will the soil be to rich in nutrients** and how long till i have to add more nutrients will it just be a matter of when my leaves start yellowing up add the Searls 5 in 1 or will i need to buy some made up bottles? I'v been reading about the NPK do i need to start adding that later as well? I'm assuming they go straight into flower as the sun may not hit them all day. I just want an easy to care for grow doesn't have to be massive yield or that potent as its for myself only. Am I going a bit over board here if i just want a decent grow or is it all necessary. lol it's a bloody big read hope some one can get back to me so i can get this started. I appreciate any help or suggestions i can get! from the land down under Andrew Last edited by andru126; 10-15-2009 at 05:33 AM. |

Hey, I'm new to this too, but I have researched this a bit. Maybe it would be a good idea to grow your germinated seeds in pots a while before planting them into your guerilla spot. This may not be feasible for you, if it is not you really need to watch these in-ground seedlings the first few weeks. I mean every day. They will need water (I'm thinking this is a real dry area). I would also recommend some kind of shade especially for mid day sun especially for these critical first few weeks as the plants set their roots. Maybe transplant some local flora or something next to your girls for shade then get rid of them after this period.
I would also recommend using more than one guerilla location to enhance your chances of not losing your crop to people wandering by, park rangers, or kangaroos and duck billed platypuses (platypi?). "Sorry Honey, our MJ was almost done flowering then a clutch of crazed duck billed platipi beat the hell out of the plants with their beaver-like tails and laid rubbery mammal eggs all over the place. They used to seem so cute!" That would suck. Last edited by MannyBoy; 10-15-2009 at 07:25 AM. |

Yer i was actually going to do plant in seprate places forgot to put it the post. But should i plant three say 100m from each other or just start with 4 plants two in complete separate locations (originally i was gonna have 3 spots but in case they flower like crazy i don't want to be stuck with a ridiculous amount of bud sitting around the house ) Ow and will it be okay then if i leave them on a balcony it is completely coverd by direct sunlight(except for sunset and sunrise) will that be alright?and i did read the whole give us your recipe thread but found that most of the things will be to hard to get a hold of. I was also going to punch a whole in a bucket and leave it there to collect water and drip on the plant aswell as water then every 3-4 days. Cheers for the quick reply still havn't made that other thread yet. Will after work tonight. |

Again, I'm new, but logic would dictate that if someone found one (or one group) of your plants they would look around for more. I would. So, I would use at least two entirely separate locations.
Not sure what you mean with the balcony thing. Do you mean to grow in pots, or to dry the harvest or something else. Of course, any time you attach your grow to your property you stand to get busted. Oh, this reminds me always use gloves in your guerilla grow on anything that can receive finger prints (paper, plastic, metal, etc.). On a balcony you could get spotted by air from a helicopter or small plane. Don't know if they do this down under, but they do in North America. Another thing I thought of but is pretty basic. Did you buy feminized seeds? If not - and you mentioned you have 3 WW seeds - you will have a 12.5% chance of growing all males (50% X 50% X 50%). |

Pharm girl that looks like a good soil mix i'll see if i can get a hold of the pro-mix. Thanks
and MannyBoy Yer in grow pots and before they get to high I'll take them to the spot, and yer i bought some gloves for when i went searching for a spot. I actually didn't buy feminized seeds because I want to grow some seeds as well maybe on just one branch I'm hoping for at least one male one female if i don't get it doesn't matter I'll do it the next grow(i got 10 seeds), Anyway that's for later. For now i just need to find a good soil recipe and Some Nutrients(need help big time). So should I go dig the wholes and put a soil mix in now and water it every now and then or wait till the plants are ready to go in. Last edited by andru126; 10-17-2009 at 03:44 AM. |
