SO you're of the opinion that everyone in washington is in on an elaborate ruse to fool the rest of the country? That the republicans all intentionally "break down" what the democrats "build up"? That would be the biggest (and best hidden) conspiracy in human history. Just making sure I'm on the same wavelength as you here.

You have every right to vote for nader. But it seems to me you're the only one in this thread demeaning other people's voices. Waves posted a coherant, well phrased explaination as to why he thinks voting for Nader in this election is a vote for McCain. And he's absolutely correct. He is not demeaning your voice because he is pointing out that people who vote for nader would almost unanimously vote for the democrat if he wasn't running. He is stating a fact that when people vote for a candidate completely out of the running, their votes cyphen off from the totals of the nearest viable candidate.

Again, it's not that you don't have the right or reason to vote for Nader, but it's just as "conscious" to vote for the lesser of two evils, and, in my opinion, even moreso.
Look, if Obama has a 10 point lead going into election day, I might even vote for nader just to help a 3rd party candidate get a good showing in a national election. But if it's close, voting for anything other than a viable candidate, to me, is selfish.

In 92(?), when Ross Perot ran, a third party candidate (before he imploded) had a chance at winning. This would be a completely different issue.

nah, i know mccain has no chance. im not afraid of my candidate losing. i also know nader has no chance.

it would simply be a shame if nader took enough votes away from obama to give mccain the election, but im pretty sure thats not going to happen. so you can go ahead and vote however you want, its not going to change the fact that barack obama is going to be the next president of the united states.

I'll vote for the candidate that is against the war and actually has a chance of getting to the white house to do something about it. Obviously Nader can't win so voting for him will get you nothing. mccain is mccain. hillary orgasms at the thought of pushing the button other than the one on her vibrator. I won't say Obama will end the nightmare but I'll vote for him because he is the only hope.

It cooperation between the two seemingly opposing parties,

Then the other party steps in and nothing is accomplished or is half-asses.

I like Obama pretty well but honestly I just can't muster the faith to vote for him. I'd much rather go third party so I'm not responsible for whatever bullshit our next prez throws our way.

Not to mention Obama's ideals are unrealistic and some of the things he says he will do are a bit ridiculous.

idk, while i do have liberal tendencies(after all, a few billion on healthcare vs. a trillionayear(off the books) is not exactly a great populist platform) i've come to realize the issues are far deeper then any mainstreame canadaite would dare address and still have a shot at winning
