WTF is Wrong With Us?
I mean, just look:
-Calling anyone with a sign of intelligence "fags". This happens in a lot of American high schools. People repeatedly being called "fags" for just carrying a book. -Rap music being dumbed down to the point of getting cars and expensive things, and doing stupid dances like Soulja Boy. What happened to real rap music like Dr.Dre, Talib Kweli, Tupac and Lupe Fiasco? -I attend a local college. The library there (you have to be student or faculty to get in) has free Internet computers. They're set up so anyone may walk behind the users and see what's on their screen. He walked behind about twenty people (during the middle of a school day) and reported that all but one was playing some sort of game (solitaire, poker, etc.) or watching a video (You Tube, etc.). - Watch NFL or British EPL on TV on sunday and you will hear "The Taco Bell half time report" or Wendy's post game highlights or The Visa halftime report is brought to you by Visa! I don't know if should laugh or cry. -The ridiculous Nu-Rave sensation being shoved down by twats from NME. I went to a Klaxon concert in Leeds, and one boy called me a "twat" for not wearing "Nu Rave clothing" and glowsticks. What happened to REAL Raves where you can wear almost anything while raving? -People naming their children stupid names involving food, not nicknames, REAL names (i.e. Frito, Twisties) Granted we've progressed since the 60's with names like Moonbeam and Rain but it's still declining. How long until Poop is a name? -The US people actually re-elected George W. Bush a man with an iq of around a 100(No offence though) -John McCain's nomination -Fox News recently broadcast a graphic about the Lincoln-Douglas debates but had a photo of Frederick Douglass. -I saw a trailer for Speed Racer last month at the movies(I was seeing Iron Man with my cousins). At the end of the trailer the word 'GO!' flashes onto the screen. I heard someone next to me say: "That 'GO!' movies looks like it will be great! Plus it looks like a cartoon from my childhood called Speedracer!" -People voting for Obama because of Obama Girl. What the hell? -Idiots from the Internet worshipping Ron Paul to the point of stupid -Paparazzi photos of celebrities eating, grocery-shopping, picking up their dog's poop, etc that magazines PAY $ FOR! -I read copies of the Daily Mail when i was in the UK, and they had non-stop coverage of the Madeline McCann story, while at the same timethere wasn't even a single coverage of Burmese Monks getting killed. And 80% of their articles consists of anti-Muslim, anti-Gay, anti-BBC propaganda and celebrity journalism. And what's worse that it's no.1 most read newspaper in the UK! -I was watching some show called "Man vs. Animal" or something like that. The premise of it was to see who was better equiped to do certain things: humans or animals. If that wasn't stupid enough by itself, they decided to bring the "sport" of competitive eating into the show. It's get's better, or worse depending on your point of view, because the championship eater from Japan was pitted against... a BEAR. Gee, I wonder who will win. -Paris Hilton had a National Bestseller -Freedom Fries... elected US Congressmen actually fought to try and rename french fries. Good thing there aren't any starving people, or genocides, or dictators, or drug lords, or floods, or droughts, or anything like that. With those problems all cleared up, renaming french fries went to number one on my list of important issues in this world. -That television show American Gladiators -Hardline Atheists calling anyone theistic even Agnostics "deluded". -At the same time, we've got Evangelical Christians like Pat Robertson appearing on TV. -Dane Cook keeps getting popular, while Bill Hicks is getting more unknown even after his death! -Intelligent Design. What happened to theistic evolution/evolutionary creationism? -"2 Girls 1 Cup" -Teen dramas & movies being too PC like High School Musical or too depressing like Skins. I love Skins, but whatever happened to feel good teen dramas like Ferris Bueller? -Those who are over eager to watch Super Bowl commercials. I don't need to run off a list of why this is idiotic. Plus they're not funny, nor creative. Nothing like being in room full of people and being the only one not laughing and wondering how 20 people are laughing at talking animals. Maybe we'll get to see a 45 second spot of nothing but an a** with Bud on one cheek and Light on the other, or heaven forbid Carl's on one and Jr. on the other cheek... lol. -Have you ever picked up a sports illustrated magazine to discover that there is a model in bikini on the cover? I always wondered about this, what does the bikini chick has to do with sports? wait, I know, the movie explained this too, sex sells, and lots of it. Maybe it's the same reason NFL uses cheerleaders. -Expiration dates on bottled water. WTH? - -I remember watching Al Jazeera English, and my American friend came to my house. When the logo popped up on the Tv, he said "Why are you watching Anti-American propaganda?" -When worldwide events like the Palestinian Intifada, Afghan War and War on Iraq started, they were showing the bombing on TV, they showed it all day at the college where i studied. The reactions of most people there were indistinguishable from the people gathering around the cops blowing up Frito's car in the film "Idiocracy". -And last but least, "The Moment of Truth." In our family, it's called "Torture Hour;" I call it "Emperor Nero, Part Deux." Just the idea that someone would willingly go on that show and answer questions that would destroy their real-world reputation in exchange for money is repulsive. It's like a trashy talk show, but more profitable for the victims, er, guests. I think it would be more consconiable to sell your soul to Satan than go on that show. So, are we actually reaching the point of stupidity? What can we do to stop this madness? Oh, and you're interested in knowing more about the dumbing down of society watch Idiocracy, a hilarious film by Beavis & Butthead creator Mike Judge: Idiocracy

Last night my friend was telling us how some kid at his sisters graduation was named Shaquille O'Neil Taylor. lol. Shaquille O'Niel was his first name... My other friend was there and his mom works at a grade school in Camden. Some kid in one of her classes was named Prince Rakim something. Prince Rakim was his first name. For those that dont know Prince Rakim is one o Rza's aliases (from WuTang). That means that when this kind was born some time in the early 90s his mother was so into Wu Tang she named him frigging Prince Rakim. How friggin ridiculous is that.

If you don't believe my lie, it's true, ask the blind lady on the corner, she saw it too.

I just have to point out that other than a couple things, you're right - however, people are people, and just because we're the most dominant species on the planet doesn't necessarily mean we're the smartest.

Blah blah blah blah blah problems whining more problems more whining.
Just be the change you want to see and stop making such useless posts of angst and negative vibes. If you want to see a world of more integrity and intelligence, be a world of more integrity and intelligence. That includes just letting others be and doing what you know is best for the highest good. Somehow, I don't think making threads about how shitty everything is, has any positive impact on the world. Really, it seems to portray the characteristics of the very thing you claim to dislike: intolerance.

So you can only listen to opinions of those whom you know personally? What an immature cop-out.
Whatever. Any dipshit with two eyes can see what's wrong with the world. It takes true vision to see what's right.

i don't think i've ever seen a thread start out with so much negativity...
there's nothing "wrong" with anyone unless you choose to label them as "wrong".

I think it's a crime no one's heard of Neutral Milk Hotel, one of the most fantastic but underrated bands around.
