My sentiments exactly...
Think about it...
The OPEC minister may look you in the eye and say, "We are at war with you infidels and have been since the embargo in the 1970s. You are so arrogant you haven't even recognized it. You have more missiles, bombs, and technology; so we are fighting with the best weapon we have and extracting on a net basis about $700 billion/year out of your economy. We will destroy you! Death to the infidels! While I am here I would like to thank you for the following: Not developing your 250-300 year supply of oil shale and tar sands. we know if you did this, it would create thousands of jobs for U.S. citizens, expand your engineering capabilities, and keep the wealth in the U.S. instead of sending i t to us to finance our war against you infidels. Thanks for limiting defense dept. purchases of oil sands from your neighbors to the north. We love it when you confuse your allies. Thanks for over regulating every segment of your economy and thus delaying, by decades, the development of alternate fuel technologies. Thanks for limiting drilling off your coasts, in Alaska, and anywhere there is an insect, bird, fish, or plant that might be inconvenienced. Better that your people suffer. Glad to see our lobbying efforts have been so effective. Corn based Ethanol. Praise Allah for this sham program! Perhaps you will destroy yourself from the inside with theses types of policies. This is a g i ft from Allah, praise his name! We never would have thought of this one! This is better than when you pay your farmers NOT TO GROW FOOD. Have them use more energy to create less energy, and simultaneously drive up food prices. Thank you U.S. Congress! And finally, we appreciate you letting us fleece you without end. You will be glad to know we have been accumulating shares in your banks, real estate, and publicly held companies. We also finance a good portion of your debt and now manipulate your markets, currency, and economies for our benefit. THANK YOU AMERICA !" You stupid fools! Praise Allah!!!

Oil is an outdated and dinosaur technology that should hardly be in use anymore today. It is because corrupt greedy corporations and lobbies suppress alternative technologies and kill legislation that would lead us to other techs and clean energy supplies.
You forgot one major point by the Arabs: We wish you would stay the fuck in Europe and quit exporting your fucked up culture into the lands of others and killing all the thousands of babies and millions of innocent families in the process. Asalami macbeth.

Um, actually the reason we don't have some miracle alternative fuel yet is because there isn't one. Blah blah, hemp, hydrogen...all of these are not economically viable yet. That's the point you guys are missing entirely. If we were to turn off the oil pumps with a snap of our fingers we'd basically nuke our economy and standards of living back to the stone age. The fact of the matter is, we do not have an energy source besides oil, coal or nuclear power that is affordable for the large majority of the people of the United States. Do you honestly think these so called "greedy" evil oil companies would miss the chance to monopolize the hydrogen or ethanol or whatever else market? If we and they could, we would by now. Not everything is some evil conspiracy guys, come on.

fossil fuels are going nowhere
When crude in the mid east dries up the balance of power will swing back to the west and our trillions of recoverable barrels of crude oil, shale, sands, and coal.

Yea, thats why they are not pushing harder for mining/drilling in North America, until more recently in Canada anyways. Because its better to use up the other guys supplies first, the environmentalism just provides a good excuse.
I am sure that has something to do with it anyways. |

even if we found an alternative energy source oil will still be needed. Look around your house and you will find tons of shisnit that this 'evil' oil was used to make.

My co-worker
I was talking to a gent I work with who is all about using less oil or getting away from it entirely. He is an older gent, very intelligent, and has never smoked any of that dangerous marijuana in his life. He is a scientific type.
He told me a story today about another gent he knew that developed a technology to increase torque and fuel mileage of diesel trucks. The mileage would have been about 44 m.p.g. in a full size rig. According to my source, this gent met his demise when he was ran over on the sidewalk. The police report read that he was jogging in the street when he was hit by the car. However, the gent was 80 YEARS OLD!!!! Don't tell me there is no conspiracy. I know better. Most of the things in our stores could be made from hemp. Plastic goods, clothing, paper, inks, paint, varnish all much cleaner and little or no toxins, which is a polite word for poison. The Amerikaan Government is highly into poison. Let's bring our manufacturing back to where this country was founded. Hemp. ![]()

In 1792..
As governor of Virginia, George Washington passed a law that required all property owner to grow either hemp or linen. George Washington was a slave owner also. I am sure a fair amount of the slavery was used in hemp production.
I would rather be a slave to hemp production than oil, as we are now. At least the planet would be far cleaner and we would all be healthier for it.

A) George Washington was NEVER governor of Virginia. B) In 1792, George Washington was finishing up his first term as President. C) George Washington never signed any bill requiring people to grow hemp. George Washington DID write a letter to someone once, wherein it said, "Make the most of the hemp seed and sow it everywhere." (And both he and Thomas Jefferson grew it on their plantations). However, he probably wasn't telling people to grow cannabis to smoke up. Hemp was used to make rope, and since ships were the easiest way to get from A to B, and since ships required literally TONS of rope, that was the likely reason behind his advice. Please learn some basic history, man. ![]() ![]()
