Thumbs up Kudos for a more intelliegnt answer...

Many places in the world have the climate to support anwhere from 2 to 4 harvests of hemp per year. So, the acreage equation is at least doubled. Only the extreme northern and southern hemispheres would be able to grow one per year, and that would be in the summer months. Places like California would be able to produce 3-4 harvests per year with a small amount of water and pesticides. Most of Canada could produce 2 harvests per year.

Hemp only has one natural enemy-man. Look on hempcar on what hemp can do. I do agree it is the same plant. But to outlaw a beneficial plant is insane. We have lost 70 years of technology. Think of where we would be today if the events of 1937 never took place.

I am actually enjoying watching the car compamies struggling after they supported the oil companies for so many years. They got sold out by the same entity they supported. I knew all of what is happening today was going to transpire after I read The Emporer. This evil needs to stop. The sooner, the better.

Oil should not be on the stock market. Take it right off. Then prices would truly be based on supply & demand. It is an essential commodity that holds EVERYTHING hostage. Take it off today and prices would change for the better tomorrow.

Amen brother....

This has been my point all along. When you base your entire economy strictly on one element, then the people in charge of that element are in total control. The U.S. was totally energy independent up until the time Nixon sent Kissinger over to the Saudis to buy oil from them which created the gas shortage and doubled the price. We actually could be energy independent again as there is enough oil in Alaska to power us for over 200 years. In the interim of that time, we could be looking into alternative fuels such as plant fuels. The best biomass is hemp.

People who argue with me over that point are only hurting themselves and their families. We need to keep the money in this country and prosper from it. We currently import 4 million barrels per day which is $320,000,000 per day.

I can't figure you out...

Do you think people should be thrown in jail and have their property seized for growing hemp to produce paper, fiber, food, or energy products??? You really think the government has your best interest at heart??? Or, would you be open to trying to find better alternatives???

I personally would be open to finding better ways to put people back to work and have far less pollution. Like I said before, we should be on the same side and page. Or, why do you waste your time on here??

Certainly hemp cultivation would be an industry which would put a heck of a lot of people back to work in the USA! I have eaten hemp cereal and worn a hemp shirt; the plant undoubtedly has a myriad of uses.

I wonder how hemp fuel compares in efficiency to corn oil and sugarcane oil? If Brazil can do the following with sugarcane, I wonder what the US and the rest of the world could do with hemp.

HEMP vs D.E.A.th Taxes from Texas

pretty much the same,
ya know how much oil it takes to grow yer hemp?

Ziltch, is it troll season? Thought you were departing yappy? Do y'all just make shit up or just get off on TV Pinheads ravings? Does the drug czar memo's get you all hot? When you spread gossip about Hemp, it actually keeps the status quo killing people. You have no ass to back a word, yet you bark and bark childish doubts for what? What could possibly make a drug worrier terrorize Americans? Or these fossil fools and chemical dependents who must hate Americans. When Nixon lumped Hemp into the CSA, never before completely outlawed. He did it for the Oil companies and Pharmaceuticals. Do you realize fossil fools are meant to stay in the ground? Jesus won't have nothing to toss the Khristzions in. The sulfur and particulates only profit slime-balls and ticks selling legal drugs. Same with the poison sprayers like Tom Delay. Aborting more babies than Roe v Wade. Keeping Hemp off the market shelves. Spewing CO2, retaining heat supposed to reflect into space, not from here until the fossil fools came. What can gossipers gain from denial? Same as the drug worriers, what do you get out of terrorizing sick people? Or healthy people?

"Depart from me, ye cursed ... for I was hungry, and ye gave me no food; I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink; I was a stranger, and ye took me not in; naked, and ye clothed me not; sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not" (Matt. 25:41-43).

One plant providing food, clothing, milk, shelter, medicine and
there just ain't no reason for prison just growing it!...

Do you know how much oil it takes to drill for oil? To cut down trees? To grow cotton, using 90 million pounds a poison on bible belt fetus'. While op rescue is shooting doctors in church. Killing babies in Iraq for Chevron and Exxon and Cheney now teamed with Mel Sampler, the rehab psycho. Manipulations to keep profit regardless of the health of us citizens. Your gossip and the obstruction only keeps the internationalists Banksters, Insurance in $24 million salaries and the same Korpses and subsidiaries in total competition with Ganja and Hemp. Stick your head in the sand, mouthfart non logic to the I'm a believers. Outlawing natural prevention and cures, maintaining dysfunction on synthetic chemical "treatments". You may not be Nazi's, just sneakier descendants. Rockefeller and the same Mellon Carneigie Enron Hearst Fox Yellow gossip, different day. Besides gasoline has nothing to do with crude oil production or price. We have reserves what the fascist have done is run down the maintenance of the refineries. As stated, hemp bio-diesel is not adequate for transportation. Hemp oil is graded for lubricants and the food grade seed and oil is nutritionally superior to fish, soy, dairy, meat or flax. 98% of the brave narkosluts eradications, saveding the lil tikes, is unfertilized, unkept, pheasant habitat called ditchweed. Hemp cellulose is 70+%, 4 times the yield of trees, more in warmer climates with 3 crops. Trees are maybe 30%, crude oil cellulose makes hydrocarbon plastic that doesn't biodegrade, leaks 15,000 gallons of crude into the ocean each year transporting it from the various war zones and legitimate dictators.

Pulp Fiction and the World's Ancient and Endangered Forests

It’s no secret that in most cases paper comes from trees and trees come from Ancient Forests. In fact: Globally, 71% of the world’s paper supply is derived from ecologically valuable, biologically diverse forests rather than from tree farms. (Toward a Sustainable Paper Cycle: An Independent Study on the Sustainability of the Pulp and Paper Industry, 1996)

Approximately 40% of the trees logged in Canada’s ancient rainforests (trees up to 1,400 years old)* and 65% of those logged in Canada’s boreal forests are used to produce pulp and paper.**

Global paper consumption has increased by a factor of 20 this century and has more than tripled over the past 30 years. (NO END TO PAPERWORK: World Resources 1998-1999, by staff of World Resources Program, 1998 updated June 2001.

Global paper consumption is projected to grow roughly 77% by 2020. (OECD Environmental Outlook, p. 218, 2001)

"I develop an analogy between paid assassins on the street and those in the suites. In the most general sense, these corporate executives are paid hitmen who use very much the same language and rationalization. Or family farmers, Indian and Mexican home grown carbohydrate plastic (cellophane). Hemp's 3 fibers for clothing and textiles. Carpets without the toxic fumes killing more fire people than flames. 90% of the stills before prohibition operated tractors and farm equipment. Many oil plants from safflower, to the peanut oil Mr. Diesel used on the engine he invented. Henry Fords hemp car replacing the very oil driven steel bodies, with 10 times the resistance on small collisions. Mercedes, Lotus using car parts of hemp. Car seats upholstery, furniture from one plant. Half of our oil needs are imported, and replaced by Hemp. Other alternatives to gasoline, that seems to always be the main focus. Do you even realize traffic jams are designed?

I see in the near future a crisis approaching

Henry Ford originally made his cars to run on ethanol, so farmers could create their own fuel. (He saw farmers really as his customers originally, since nearly all of us were farmers).

Along comes John D. Rockefeller, who wants people to use oil. He provides money to the anti-alcohol movement in order to make Prohibition a reality, and stop the ethanol fuel industry and promote the use of fossil fuels.

The documentary is called: Fuel
Trailer is here:

"The other factor that people forget about the southern region is the amount of intermarriage that has already occured there, and so there are certain genetic defects come to the fore when you have a large intermarriage population. That means regression.... And in fact Utah is another state, which is basically owned by the Mormon church, which also has a lot of intermarriage. And because this type of intermarriage there is a large proportion of blind people in Utah. That's why when you go across the street, instead of just a stop light that you can see, they have stop lights that make a cuckoo noise to tell you when to cross the street -- that's true!"
-- Frank Zappa,

quoted from The Way I See It, Barry

Every bottleneck the oil companies make more money. Most commuting to a servant job that real estate is too high to live. Willie Nelson is localizing truckers and biodiesel truckstops. Mudslides or stronger softer blue jeans, not crude oil ploy fiber. Though there will probably be a market for light weight, water resistant materials. Unless they make biodacron or biorayon. They're making bio PVC. Houses from bales or hemp plywood with greater tensile strength than trees. Compost toilets producing methane to run a generator to charge a battery in an electric car. Solar panels were shelved until the patent ran out. Electric trollies run into the ground for gas buses, same as ethanol causing Al Capone, not an abundance of unruly drunks.

Magnetic monorails like Disney. Reducing plastic dumped in the ocean making an island the size of Texas blocking light killing plankton, feeding the food chain we depend on. Instead of land fills, compost to aid the toilet. Many ways Hemp and Ganja can reduce foreign baby killing wars for basically something duped on the public, that causes cancer and Neurological disease that causes profits for Pharmaceuticals and their parent Monsanto poison company. Don Rumsfeld/Searle Pharmaceuticals aspartame, fast tracked through the FDA, Searle's a subsidiary of Cliarence Thomas Monsanto. They made saccharin, from coal tar. Cheney ran Halliburton Asbestos Co. They were sued for billions knowingly causing cancer. Now making billions supplying troops in liars police actions. With all this money prohibition makes, for daddy Boosh' korpses thousand points of darkness.

History of Medical Cannabis
Until 2008, the earliest known evidence of marijuana in human hands dated back approximately 10,000 years to a prehistoric village that was discovered in Taiwan in 1972. Pottery shards unearthed there bore the distinct impression of hemp cord, conclusively proving that marijuana has been in use since the Stone Age. However, in 2008, experts are about to publish findings on a dig in Central Asia that features evidence of the use of cannabis by a prehistoric medicine man some 27,000 years ago.

I think that hemp is really good for making rope and clothes and for getting us high, which is plenty for a plant to do to earn it's keep. However it's not some magical thing that can fill every need of every human being.

edit: definately not gonna read all that DDC, if you could condense it into a sentence or two I might reconsider.

You didn't answer the question...

Do you think that cannabis/hemp should remain an illegal plant??

You continue to dodge. Maybe you should become a politician. We have lost 70 years of technology. Watch the video "In Pot We Trust" which I posted under Cannabis Activism. Mentioned on there is the fact that "marijuana" has never been legal in our lifetime and we just do not fathom it being legal. You really don't have a clue what we could be doing with it, as most people don't.

Boosh

The Elkhorn Manifesto
SHADOW OF THE SWASTIKA

Before the Gatewood Galbraith for Governor Campaign in 1991, few Kentuckians knew that the plant that the federal government had demonized for over 50 years as "Marijuana - Assassin of Youth," was, in fact, Cannabis Hemp, the most traded commodity in the world until the mid-1800s, and our state's number one crop, industry, and most important source of revenue, for over 150 years.

Today, thanks to the efforts of pioneer hemp researchers and public advocates such as Galbraith, Jack Fraizer, Jack Herer, Chris Conrad, Ed Rosenthal, Don Wirtshafter and others, the federal government's unjustifiable suppression of our state's right to develop our most valuable and versatile natural resource, is facing increasing opposition from an informed public. Hemp is now recognized as the number one agriculturally renewable raw material in the world, and perhaps the only crop / industry which can guarantee us industrial and economic independence from the trans-national corporations.

"Shadow of the Swastika" is a follow-up to my earlier work, "Cannabis Hemp: the Invisible Prohibition Revealed," which I wrote and published in support of the Galbraith Campaign. Since publication of that booklet, there has been growing public acceptance of the evidence that Marijuana Prohibition was created in 1937, not to protect society from the "evils of the drug Marijuana," as the Federal government claimed, but as an act of deliberate economic and industrial sabotage against the re-emerging Industrial Hemp Industry.

Previous investigations by hemp researchers have been limited to the suppression of free-market competition from the hemp industry, and focused on the activities of three prominent members of America's corporate, industrial and banking establishment during the mid- to late-1930s:

Whine about the info, too many references? Your lies are getting harder cause all them fact thingy's? Like you have any control over what anyone reads. What you know nothing of, you should pass by or back up your "opinions" for lack of a better word. Where on any post has anyone ever said Hemp does everything? If we wanted to hear mouthfarts, we have TV's dude. Being a messenger for cable trolls is silly.

How many fucking times? Its a plant, therefore it either is or it ain't. Thats it, no debate, the wars over, nothing to see here, go home. What's beyond Imbecile? Morons and Idiots won't try to eat what isn't there, yet these bottom dwellers keep feeding on hate and greed. That they pay dearly for in wasted tax and caging the neighbors so your moneyslut friends can chemically grow schwagg to get in on the gravy train.

I know growers too bubba, they are expert horticulturists, and grow for the love of the plant. They have been rewarded financially when it was $40 bucks or now at $400. But that is not why they grow. White powders are probably easier. The money is necessary to live here, but not the motivating factor for most scrupled organic growers. Hemp is a safer alternative to poison cotton and war torn crude oil and flat top mountains for fossil fools deadly synthetics.

No one, not even a republican would grow kynd bud in a hemp field for camouflage, pollinating it into non psychoactive hemp. Cop lies. Leaves are similar? Vodka looks like moonshine. Or bottled water. Hops can be grafted onto Ganja and visa versa. Not the same thc results. But genetically similar to get wiped out if drug thugs decide on Fusarium oxysporum, like Souder and Florida narkosluts have been pushing for decades.

Ganja is safer than Booze or White powders. Ask the dead victims. None from Ganja. USA! Qaeda terrorizing and even torturing American citizens. Perpetuating the lies of Anslinger, Walters or McCaffrey for a paycheck. One can understand why the Insurance CEO's and Rockefellers and Booshit Cheni Neoconjobs lie, $24 million dollar salaries and no bid contracts. But why teabog dipshits go along for nothing is beyond comprehension.

don't have time to refute everything you said DDC, but I will say that the worst thing I said about anyone was that they were very very biased, yet you seem happy to have some one to attack. Also if you notice I posted a link to an article about how much fossil fuel is needed to grow corn, I'd be surprised if hemp was very different. Now of course you could grow using human powered irrigation, but even with the best human powered systems it's only possible to irrigate a couple of acres a day. Gravity feeds are another possibility, but they're only available in a very small portion of the planet.

Time is the same for everyone. You have nothing to refute, time has nothing to do with it. The worse thing you did was make lame statements as fact. Thus contributing to the status quo staying in power over truth and a viable alternative to what is making us sick. I have no interest in seeking out someone to attack. Plenty of ignorance taught to keep me busy. But if the situation arises, I'll oblige.

Ok, thats a start. Sounds like a real question. CORN is not a viable ethanol without changing the eating habits of the world's poor and dysfunctional. Corn is the primary base food source of most of the worlds junk food diet. Staple for most poor nations as well. The only reason to use corn for ethanol is to drive up prices and get so much shit they drop it. As they have done. Hemp for ethanol as a waste by product, after you get the fibers, oil and seed protein. Not sacrificing a staple. Isochanvre, Hemp hurds mixed with lime petrifies into a mineral state that was used in the Merovingian period of France 500-751 A.D. that still stand. Condi lumber in Oregon produced hemp plywood with 4 times the tensile strength of trees. Trees produce oxygen and remove global warming carbon dioxide, while filtering thousands of gallons of fresh water (dew) each day. A part of a complete ecosystem that isn't healthy when trees are removed. Let alone clear cut for bird cage liners. Hemp cellulose for plastic instead of crude oil. Vegetable oil or fossil fools crude is the choice with hemp. Though for biodiesel many other oil plants would provide better oil yields. The seed is about 25%, but they're pretty small seeds. With the stalks we could save on the need for synthetics and pesticides on cotton. Grown by the poor and unemployed manufacturing products. Less of a tax burden on tax payers, less pollution, less intrusion on other countries resources. Leaving the corn for the junk food and staples. But you have to find time to read it. It ain't on Bill O or MSNBC.

Dude, step farming or off grid pumps and holding tanks. Large scale under legal conditions as 32 other countries are growing do. Roots as long as the stalk, 15 - 20 feet find water. As stated 98% of the so called "marijuana" eradicated is wild ditchweed hemp. No one waters it. No one fertilizes or pesticides it. All by itself it grows. Hemp is also a friendly alternative plant for farm banks. Planting in flax fields during the off season when redressing is necessary. Planting on hills prone to mudslides. Plant it as a pest and herb deterrent in-between rows of corn. Plenty of places to grow. Now most of the Agriculture is grain for cows, we export. Tons of poisons on the grain when hemp seed omega 3, 6 and 9 could supplement a lot of the meat. Actually make nutritious burgers. Less chemical grain, less cow destruction and factory farms. And again having a waste byproduct to make into clothing, or dent resistant auto body's. Or PVC pipes etc. Its just too versatile for the status weird. So speculation to a point is healthy, beyond that is ignorance. One thing about the internet and yahooka. Time is not a factor. This info will be here for years. Take your time.

that is pretty good information. I do hope you guys realize I was pretty much just trying to play devil's advocate. Of course I love cannabis and think it's a very useful plant, I just don't think it's the most efficient crop for energy or food.

Unfortunately for you dumbass...

The only people who benefit from the prohibition of the plant are evil and wicked-period. End of discussion. Thank you to all the intelligent people who have posted many useful links regarding the subject. I have known this for 20 years and I have dealt with "devil's advocates" for the same time peoiod.

We really don't have to be anywhere near as impoverished as we are right now. Nor do we have to continually breathe poison. You should have seen The Gov's flyers in 1993 as I did. I got escorted out of many events for passing them out. After all, big lipped niggars are smoking marijuana and sneaking extra beats into their jazz music which causes white women to tap their feet and destroys their morals.
