You just don't fathom the fact that hemp could REPLACE OIL!!! We could be making 8 different types of fuel out of hemp. This means that it would take a zero amount of oil to grow hemp. The tractors and trucks would all be powered by hemp seed oil. Get a grip on reality!!!!!!

I think he meant the oil based fertilizers that would be required to grow hemp
However, they got this here thing they call organic growing, which everyones been talkin' 'bout.
Oil is being jacked up because of the planned crash of the dollar. It will go down a little, but the trend is up, even tho the world is awash in oil . If the Jews hit Iran, you'll line up to pay $8/gallon. . .and be happy about it. Add another thousand or two to heat up your (or your moms) house. Plan on paying $ 1.50 for a potato..

lol who gives a shit what a barell costs, it's not like prices have dropped since they broke $100+ a barrel last year (over here anyway). Government taxes tend to influence prices more than the cost of a barrel, go cry to Obama if it rises.

I really don't think hemp is a viable alternative to petroleum. ya know how long it took the planet to put all of that energy into the form of petroleum?

Nope. Do some research on hemp. It could replace cutting down trees, but hemp oil's ability for fuel doesn't even come close to oil from the ground.
It wouldn't even be practical, and you are bias.

You folks are missing the big picture
Even if hemp oil were not used to power our cars, airplanes, etc. It could be used to power desk lamps, and similar things, and most importantly, it can replace paper and we wouldn't have to destroy the Amazon.
Hemp is not marijuana, has no psychotropic properties, yet it is still illegal to farm in the USA. Why? Might it be because of a (zomg!) joint CONSPIRACY on the part of several major industries to keep it out of competition?
When hemp cultivation is outlawed because the government says it's a "drug," when anyone with an IQ of 1 or over can see that it's NOT a drug, one has to ask ones' self what is the real reason behind its criminalization.
Canada grows industrial hemp. What's wrong with the USA?

So you like breathing poison and being broke. Now who is the dumbass. Better get a grip as to who you are talking to as I have been involved with the movement for 20 years and stood with the Governor at his rallies. I was even part of his staff.
Who cares about efficiency?? Hemp WILL REPLACE OIL and take about 80% of the pollution out of the air. We have millions of acres of empty land throughout the world where we could be growing and using hemp for over 50,000 products. We would all be working and our economy would be flourishing instead of the other way around. But I am sure the Saudi Royals need money worse than you and your family do. Dubya sure thought so.

a hectare is 100 acres. this means that an acre only produces about 20 pounds of hemp seeds. oil generally weighs about 7 pounds per gallon. This means that even if all the weight of the hemp seed was oil, which it is obviously not, it would only yield about 3 gallons of fuel per acre, which, in industrial farming, is less than it would take to grow the same amount.
Anyone who says that hemp and marijuana are different plants is just ignorant. They are both cannabis sativa.
